3rd POV:
The Sakamaki mansion was as lively as ever as the red-haired, pink-eyed child ran throughout the house.
"Oi, get back here Yuzu!" Subaru yelled.
The little girl stuck out her tongue at the male and only ran faster to get away from her albino uncle. She had pranked him by pouring water on him in his coffin followed by a whole bag of flour. She seemed to get her love for pranking from her red-headed father, who watched the incident happen behind her. He was laughing his ass off of course, radiating with pride.
"You can't catch me Uncle Tsun!"
An irk mark appeared on Subaru's forehead and he easily caught up to the little girl, picking her up and giving her a noogie.
"You thought you could get away? I'm centuries older than you Yuzu. Oi Ayato, do something about her cockiness!"
"Why should I? That's her best quality! Besides, that prank was awesome." he said, wiping tears from the corner of his eyes.
"Thank you papa!" she exclaimed, glowing.
Kou walked into the dining room where the three were and made a 'pfft' sound before loud laughter came from his mouth.
"BWAHAHA, SUBARU-KUN WHAT HAPPENED?"
"I'M GOING TO KILL YOU."
Subaru let go of the girl and she ran to her father, giving him a high five. Yui, Reiji, and Ruki walked into the living room, all carrying plates of food. Yui froze, shocked at Subaru's appearance and faced the little girl accusingly.
"Yuzu! You know better than to be mean to your uncle like that!"
She only made a 'hmph' sound before looking away and hugging her father. Yuzu was definitely a daddy's girl. Yui sighed at her disobedient daughter before setting the plates on the table. Subaru had walked out to take a quick shower to get all the flour off.
"Ayato, please learn to discipline her a little bit. It's not good to raise her into a spoiled child."
"Why not?"
"How is she supposed to make friends?"
"The great me does not need something as low as friends." Yuzu said, holding her head high.
Yui just sighed louder, unable to say anything to change her mind. The rest of the boys piled in and took their seats, greeting the little girl. She smiled up at them before taking her seat in between her mom and dad. They all started eating and Yui couldn't help but let her eyes wander to the empty seat next to Shu, who was sleeping as usual. After the whole fireworks incident, the house had become a disaster. The Mukami's ended up moving in with the Sakamaki's and there was a lot of conflict. Everyone seemed much more tense than their normal selves and the sadistic side in them seemed to show stronger than ever. Ayato had ended up proposing to Yui a few days later in hopes to make her happier, which she gladly accepted. They held a small wedding with all the brothers and after 2 weeks, Yui found out she was pregnant. She gave birth to a baby girl and named her after Yui's sister, the one who went missing. They both remember the naming process like the back of their hand. They had both looked into each others eyes in the hospital room.
"Yuzu." they had said without hesitation.
The birth of the girl seemed to lighten everyone's mood and the mansion became normal after a hard nine months. With vampire blood running through the little girl's body, she had grown up fast, almost too fast. Within a year, she had the body and the mentality of a five year old. She inherited a lot of Ayato's personality traits along with the red hair. The only thing she got from Yui was her pink eyes. Pulling out of her thoughts, she saw the little girl eating everything but the vegetables.
"Yuzu, you must eat your vegetables."
"I don't want to."
"Oi Yuzu, listen to your mom." Ayato said.
At certain times, Ayato would actually help with parenting and scolding the child if he needed to. The said girl nodded before putting the cherry tomato in her mouth. Yuma pouted at her scrunched up face when the vegetable entered her mouth, sad that she didn't like the vegetables he grew. Suddenly, some sort of realization crossed her face as she turned to face Yui.
"Mama, I meant to ask you this a long time ago, but who's that white haired girl in the picture under your shirts?"
Everyone froze and Yui dropped her knife, looking at her daughter in horror.
"What were you doing looking through there Yuzu?"
"I was just curious." she said innocently.
Suddenly, there was a scratching sound and we all turned to see Shu standing up, his blue eyes open.
"I'm done."
He walked away from the table and exited, slamming the door extra hard. Yuzu jumped and tears appeared in her eyes as she looked at the door. She had never seen her uncle act like this before and in all honesty, it scared her.
"I'm sorry." the little girl sobbed.
"Shh don't cry." Ayato cooed to the little girl.
"I think that will be all for today's dinner." Reiji said stiffly.
All the boys nodded and stood up, instantly leaving the room. Yuzu cried harder and Yui carried the child to her room. She tucked the crying child into her blankets and brushed her red hair away from her face.
"Stop crying Yuzu." Yui said sadly.
The girl nodded and took deep breaths before all that came out were tiny hiccups.
"Are you going to tell me who that was mama?"
"That..... that person is my sister, your aunty."
"I have an aunty! Where is she?"
Yui flinched and looked down, her eyes stinging.
"She's.....she's on a trip. I'm sure you'll be able to see her soon."
"You promise?!"
"I....promise."
The little girl beamed before yawning. Yui smiled down at her daughter before kissing her forehead.
"Goodnight Yuzu."
"Good night mama."
The little girl shut her eyes as Yui walked out of the room, shutting the door softly. She walked to hers and Ayato's room and saw him already sitting on the bed, waiting for her. She quickly changed into her pajamas and Ayato pulled her into his arms, laying the both of them down. He stroked her hair softly, feeling something wet on his shirt.
"I miss her." Yui said sadly.
"I know. We all do."
Yui opened her eyes and looked at the moon shining outside their room.
'I hope she's doing well.' Yui thought and closed her eyes, falling asleep, dreaming of the happy times they had spent together.
