11- Hide and seek

Yuzuki's POV:

I opened my eyes to see sunlight shining through the window and I and Shu had moved while we were sleeping, he was now snuggling into my stomach while my head was touching the headboard. The pillow was under my waist making me uncomfortable as I tried to move from the position. Clearly, someone didn't want me to move as he held me tighter and groaned.

"Riri, let me go," I whined.

"No."

Suddenly, the door slammed open and in walked a little girl, looking a bit too excited.

"Aunty Yuzuki!"

She jumped onto my bed, effectively kicking Shu in the face and sitting on my stomach. Shu was growling, eyes wide open but I gave him a dark look, making him mutter to himself before he closed his eyes again. I looked up at the energetic girl tiredly.

"Good morning, Junior. What's going on?"

"Nothing!"

"So, why did you come to wake me up?"

"I missed you!"

"It's only been a few hours."

The little girl pouted and I sighed before setting her back on the ground. I pushed Shu off and got off the bed, grabbing the little girls hand

"I'll play with you today but next time, don't come and wake me up because I and the sleeping one over there can get grumpy."

"Ok, Aunty Yuzuki!"

She led me through my door despite Shu's protests and led me to the living room. Yuzu sat me on the couch, looking up at me with twinkling eyes.

"I want to play hide and seek!"

I became a little more awake as she mentioned the childish game. Hide and seek for me was a game that any adult or child could enjoy.

"I'm in. What does the winner get?"

"The other person's desert for the rest of the week."

"You're in! I'll go first. We'll go to 40 since this place is so big."

I closed my eyes, turning away from the staircase.

"One, two.." I began counting.

I heard her little footsteps patter away as I counted, heading up the stairs. To make it fair, I turned down my senses.

"40! Ready or not, here I come!"

I opened my eyes, turning around to be met with Subaru.

"AHHH!" I screamed, literally jumping.

He flinched from the loud noise, holding his hands over his ears.

"What the fuck Rose?!"

"You scared me, Suba!"

"What are you doing here?"

"I'm about to play hide and seek with Junior."

I felt an arm wrap around my shoulder.

"Hide and seek? I want to play too~"

I looked up at a smirking Laito, a similar twinkle in his eye.

"Why do you want to play?"

"Because I want a prize~"

"A prize?"

"The first one to find Shiro gets a kiss from her!"

"Wait, why am I the prize?"

"I'll play too." a voice said from behind me.
