"So how was your day, pumpkin," Natalie asked.

I met Magnus's eyes and asked a silent question, pumpkin?

He replied with an embarrassed reply, SHUT UP.

His mouth was stuffed with potatoes. I was also shoveling in my meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and corn on the cob. It was long since I had a proper dinner. She always serves me leftovers from the twins' dinners. T.he only reason I love them is that they're picky eaters.

He shrugged which was the universal sign for 'my mouth is stuffed with heavenly things so if I want to answer your question, you'll end up with half-chewed food in your face'.

I suddenly got a text from Thalia. I was about to text her back when Natalie said ''My brother's roof, my rules. No phones at the table''. I stared at her in shock. She reminded me of my mom even though they look nothing alike. My mom was a brunette while Natalie was blonde. It must have been the motherly tone she used which was a tone all mothers possessed.

We ate our dinner in silence. I was the first one who finished.I put the plate back in the sink and checked my phone for the text Thalia sent.

I was so shocked. This was turning out to be the best thing ever. But I was still suspicious. Thalia wasn't the one who knows each and everything about the school and she punches anybody who she caught gossiping. How did she even know about this thing? And if Drew even cheats she would at least have the sense not to tell anyone, even birdbrain Khione and plastic Kelli.

I went to bed with half-formed ideas in my bed.
