"Kim Min Seok, I like you."
He froze.
We both stopped dancing.
We just stood there in our positions, eyes both teary as we stared at each other.
Nothing could make us ignore the aligned heartbeat sounds of our hearts in the middle of the dancing crowd.
His face was stunned; neither smiling or shocked. His eyes just gazed into mine, searching for the realness of my words.
"Are you serious?" He gulped, still holding my hand tight.
I bit my lips, my tears starting to become heavy.
"I..."
"What are you doing?"
Xiu Min and I immediately jumped away from each other in shock after realising Haneul was just behind us. Xiu Min widened his eyes in horror, lifting his hands to wipe the tears away while I nervously made my way to the angry Haneul. Just the expression on his face was enough to let us know that he was furious.
"I told you two not to go near to each other, right?" He spat at me, then looking back at Xiu Min. "You!"
Haneul started charging towards Xiu Min, but I quickly stopped him.
"Haneul, what are you talking about?" I put on my best smile, pleading for him to stop. "It was just a dance, besides he's a stranger! That was the rule of this dance, right?"
Haneul raised an eyebrow. "Stranger?"
"Yes." I nodded. "I don't know him. So let's just go, hm? Please?"
Haneul wanted to protest when Xiu Min suddenly cleared his throat, which made us turn towards him.
Xiu Min bowed.
When he raised his face up again, a smile was plastered all over him, which surprised us a lot.
"I'm sorry to interrupt, but I have to go. It was nice dancing with you, miss."
After giving us another bow, he walked away in the opposite direction, leaving us speechless. I finally turned back to Haneul, who looked startled by what just happened. But since Xiu Min had started to fake the act, I should continue to play along.
"Come on, the dance will be over soon. Let's just sit down, shall we?" I smiled, starting to feel empowered after meeting Xiu Min.
Dang, I told you that boy changed my life.
I don't know how Haneul could buy our acting but soon he gave in, his face softening as I pulled him back to our seats. His eyes were all over my face, which was both creepy but good for Xiu Min's sake.
"Ladies and gentlemen, how was the dance? Did you guys enjoy it?"
Yoona and Lee Teuk began to take over the party again, and told everyone to sit down for the launching of Haneul's product.
A chill went down my spine when Haneul squeezed my hand, and smiled sweetly towards me when his products were being brought out to the front stage.
I began to sense panic creeping inside me when I see bottles of energy drinks being put on a trolley and shone by a specific lighting from above. I could hear the crowd murmuring and even cheering for the drinks, which made me shudder.
What happened to my team?
When are they going to come?
They need to stop this launching!
