"BYULLIE AH! Eat more!"
"What else do you want, eonnie?"
"Is that enough? Here, take some more!"
I put down the chopstick I have been using since a few minutes ago back on my full plate, before shooting my three girl friends a frustrated look.
"Waegeurae, Byul?" Solar leaned in to me like she was a mom trying to figure out what was wrong with me. "You don't like our cooking?"
I opened my mouth, but Hwasa cut me off by picking up a box of fresh fried chicken in front of my face.
"Eonnie, here! We bought this just in case our food disgusts you!"
"Disgusts me? No, no, I don't mean that!" I was baffled by their seriousness. Their cooking was good as always; Solar with her kimchi, fried noodles and heavy side dishes, Whee In with her cute pastries like colourful muffins and egg tarts, Hwasa with her professional pick of wine and soup through out the meal- oh, and also her great choice of food combinations.
But it was just 8AM in the morning, and we're eating like it's a buffet for a hotel dinner.
My stomach felt like it was going to burst.
"Guys, there is no problem with the food, they're all good!" I waved my right hand as I talked. "It's just that... we don't usually eat this much in the morning, so I'm quite full for now. How about we save the leftovers for lunch?"
They threw soft 'ahhhh's and nodded their heads in unison.
"Aigoo, we were just too happy that the jerk is in a mental hospital! He truly does belong in there!" Whee In exclaimed, stuffing a tart in her mouth.
"It's funny that he actually is crazy." Solar chuckled before widening her eyes in horror. "Euw, I used to date him! Yucks! I was a moron!"
The look on her face managed to make us all hold back our laughs, knowing that Solar was having a mental breakdown as she recalled her past with him.
"But then, eonnie, how did he even know you? Well, other than through his ex-girlfriend over here- no offense- but he seemed to know you even before that, right?" Hwasa wriggled her brows at me while I turn towards Solar.
"Well, that is actually one of the mysteries I have never found the answer to all these years. He... he definitely looked like he knew me before we officially knew each other."
"Hm, come to think about it..." Solar's voice trailed off, her gaze drifting off towards me. It was like she remembered something very weird.
"I thought that he was cheating on me because he had pictures of you in his phone. Remember? I told you about this once, but I didn't think much about it."
"I barely knew him." I sighed. "Okay, let's not talk about him anymore. It's a waste of our time." My mind wandered off as I took my glass of wine towards my mouth. "Better think of my first date-"
"Date?"
I stopped immediately.
I did not just say that out loud, or did I?
I diverted my eyes back to the three girls, who obviously heard what I said. Their eyes widened as they glued their gazes on me, expecting me to elaborate.
I gulped.
Yes, Byul. You messed up again, congratulations!
"Okay, I know what you're thinking." I put back my glass down and before I could even think properly, they cut me off.
"What kind of date are we dealing with?"
