jeongguk wakes up to soft sheets, and the morning light trickled in through the blinds. he rubbed the remainders of sleep from his eyes and gazed out at the horizon, its vivid light extended across a rosy sky.

the morning was quiet and peaceful. that's why jeongguk hated it. the quieter it was, the more he could remember seokjin.

it was his first ever one night stand and the least person he wanted to love was seokjin.

he never knew when would he ever see him again and he needed to get him out of his mind, before he falls for someone he'd probably barely even see again.

"good morning jeongguk!" namjoon waves from the door, wearing the most beautiful smile. "school starts at 8, by the way."

"i'm dropping you off, alright?"

"get out. i wanna get ready."

"alright." namjoon chuckles, closing the door behind him.

he stepped into the shower, toes flinching as they touched the chilled ceramic floor. his mind was in shreds; he couldn't get seokjin out of his mind.

he turned the dial, old and metallic, releasing thousands of lukewarm drops, darkening his hair and trickled down his back.

just one last time. he pathetically begged in his thoughts.

"same place when you're done, alright?" namjoon who sat in the driver's seat, turned around to see his brother off.

jeongguk slammed the door shut. he swung his backpack over his shoulder, chewing a piece of gum that already had been in his mouth for an hour or two.

the hallways seemed busier, the students seemed less friendly and, the teachers didn't seem to care that jeongguk didn't know his way around.

jeongguk remembered when his step brother advised that he should go straight to the principal's office, get some briefing and a schedule at least.

"i'm a new student here, can i get a schedule?" jeongguk asked.

"uhm, jeon jeongguk?"

the women was clearly old, but her hair was dyed jet black, her skin was white and tight. her lips were a colour of matte pink lipstick.

"here's your schedule." the principal handed over a sheet paper to jeongguk. "i'll get someone to show you around and guide you."

"it's fine. i'll be fine on my own." jeongguk walked out of the room, not letting the principal speak furthermore.
