hoseok. i sat quietly in jeongguk's room after he told me to stay in his bedroom as his brother was still alseep. i expected to see alot of medals and trophies in his room, and my expectations were correct.
my eyes roamed all over the awards jeongguk got around his room before i noticed there was a picture of him together with another male, framed in white.
next to the picture, there i saw a ring and finally realised that the person he was with in the photo could probably be his lover, or maybe his ex.
"jimin." jeongguk said as he gave me a cup of coffee. "that's his name."
"friend?" i assumed as he scoffed.
"ex." he corrected me.
"what happened?" i said without thinking. "i'm sorry, i wasn't thinking, you don't have to explain it to me if you're uncomfortable."
"it's fine." jeongguk sat next to me, sighing. "he did nothing wrong actually,"
"i was the one who left."
"was he okay?"
"he left a few voice messages after i disappeared but probably moved on by now."
"are you okay?"
"i don't deserve him."
"well, i'm sure we all have reasons when we make a decision, especially hard ones." i said rubbing jeongguk's back.
"just hope he's doing fine."
"he'll do even better without me."

"i'm hoseok, captain of seiran's soccer team." i introduced myself.
"i'm namjoon, jeongguk's brother." he smiled.
"step brother." jeongguk emphasised that namjoon was just his step brother.
"well, yeah," namjoon played along. "step brother."
"he's here because he came to pick me up but practice got canceled." jeongguk explained while he lied down on the couch, arm above his eyes.
"pick you up?"
"i'm going this way so," i said.
"okay, hoseok!" jeongguk groaned as he got up from the couch. "i think we should get going."
"you got a ride?" namjoon asked and nodded when i showed him my car keys.
"bye namjoon! nice meeting y-" jeongguk pulled me out from the apartment, before i could say goodbye.
