Dr Murdock (The Beast)

Chapter 9

 Who is this Beast

In Just a couple of weeks, Murdock had stopped so many crimes in the city and saved a lot of lives, no one knew who he really is, those he saved could only testify that a beast saved them, as time went by, the people of the city had developed so much love for the Beast, although no one knew Murdock was the Beast, everyone was speaking positively about the Beast,

Yes he was doing a lot of good and saving lives, but his quest for revenge against the leaders of the Military Covert Organization had not changed, he was still searching for them but had no luck yet in finding them,

Who is the Beast…?,  Is he a danger to the city…?,  Is he actually saving lives…?, Is he good or bad…?, Is it really human or…?,  Did he kill and eat that little girl…?,

NOTE:

By that last question, they were actually referring to his daughter Becky, remember he was still the prime suspect of her death?

Although no one knew the identity of his late daughter Becky but her dead body was seen with him on the day of her death, when he was fleeing from the police, so he was still the prime suspect, and that gave a bad and wrong impression about him, because no one knew what really happened, seeing he was a Beast, they just assumed he killed her.

Writers POV:

We all do that, don't we?, it's easy to just judge, not knowing the actual truth behind a thing or a matter, so easy to play the blame card, isn't it?, we fear what we don't understand, it's human nature,

So those were the questions a lot of people kept asking, news about him spread across the country, to the media and every news outlet in the country.

A lot of people loved the Beast but many who didn't know him, feared and hated him.

Soon all the media and news outlets took interest in the beast, people made sketches, newspapers printed sketches of him, many people, including those he saved were interviewed by the media and news outlets, from the interviews, you could tell he had haters as well as supporters.

Meanwhile Maria back at Murdock's sister's place, was so worried about him, she wondered if he was alright and each time they talked on the phone, she kept trying to convince him to join her in California but he wouldn't agree, at least not yet, he kept telling her that he would join her as soon as he's done with what he is doing and that made her worried even more.

Few days later, Captain Matthew was watching the news on television in his office at the LAPD Swat station, he saw people being interviewed by the media department, reporters were asking questions about the Beast.

WHO IS THE BEAST?

That was the first headline on every newspaper and television stations.

“ Of course he is not a hero,'' Matthew said to himself.

The next headline was

IS HE A SUPERHERO OR VILLAIN?.

Captain Matthew angrily turned off the television, “ Superhero my Ass,” he said.

Immediately a female Swat officer walked into his office.

“ Sir, there are some reporters outside and they want to speak with you,” she said.

Captain Matthew quickly stood up and went out to meet the reporters, soon he was surrounded by many reporters, cameras pointed at him and so many questions coming at him from all directions.
