“Excuse me.. exxcuuuuuuuuuse me!” I was running through the crowd on the crowded street of Pines Avenue.  I was in a hurry not to be late for Baby Kylie’s Christening Party.  I tried to dash away as fast I could.

“Why did my car break down in the most crucial time now?” I complained in my head.  Suddenly,  I bumped myself into someone.

“oooooooh! I’m sorry?” I reacted.  Shoot! My body totally collided with the little young boy I bumped with.  I embraced him and I hit myself  and fell on the ground.  I got up and bended my knee to check if the boy was fine.  An old woman, maybe, in her sixties, rushed towards us.  She must have been the grannie of this boy.

“Oh, I’m very sorry.” I said apologetically.

The old woman looked at me  and smiled.

“No need to say sorry dear.  It is my fault since I lost him and wasn’t holding his hand. I’m sorry that it caused a trouble for you.”  She apologized in return.  However, I kept on saying sorry and bowing my head texpressing that I was sincere of what I said.  In fact, I was not able to see the boy coming.  She tapped my shoulder and turned towards the boy and removed some dirt on his pants. This old woman was so down-to-earth.  If I had run through another person, I must have been dead.  I place my hands on the boy’s head and touched it but the boy who was around 5 years old smirked at me and shrugged his head off.

“I’m very sorry, again.” I said.

He snobbed me and hissed and told his grannie to leave.  What a brat boy.  He turned his head and stuck his tongue out.  Urrrghhh. Such a brat.  I stared at them for quite awhile as they blended with the crowd.  I checked my watch.

“Damn!  I’m dead now.” I ran as quickly as possible until I reached   Bayfield Hotel.  As I entered the hotel, I galloped and asked the receptionist.

“Excuse me.  Good evening.  Where is Cody Hall located?”  My sweat dropped and dropped from my face as if I spent 4 hours of extreme exercise.

“Oh,are you one of the guests of Mrs. Bryce?” She asked.

“ Yup.” I replied.

“It’s on the third floor and it’s on the left wing as you get off the lift.  You won’t miss it.” She replied courteously.

I bolted towards the lift.  I called Vanessa immediately.

“Hello, Vanessa?”

“Kamri!, Where are you now?”

“I’m on the way up now.  I’m sorry.  I had some errands to do after my work.  You already knew it.”

“Oh, I see.  Let’s talk about later.  Guests are coming. See you.   I gotta hang up.”

Vanessa hung up the phone.  I promised to help her about ushering the guests but I was late.  If I hadn’t dropped by Joan’s , a crafting store, where I bought some materials for the project that my monster boss demanded,  I wouldn’t have been so late.  I should have denied it but urrrrggggggg, he was my freakin boss.

When the elevator opened, I turned left and searched for Cody Hall.

“Oh, there it is.”I exclaimed.

“Kamri!” A voice called me from behind.  It was May Sukimura.

“What are you doing in here? Are you invited?” I asked jokingly.

“Of course, don’t you know?” showing her hip hop shoulder moving dance.

I grabbed her arm and we headed inside the function hall.  I scanned the room looking for Vanessa and her husband Harry.
