"I've tasted the boy's blood." I stated, thumbing the corner of my mouth, wiping the small stain of red away. The three Elders' eyes lit up but their expressions remained the same, brooding with stares colder than ice. "You mean to tell us you scurried all the way back here to claim you fed from a mortal?" They all hissed in unison. I smirked, knowing I possessed information they didn't. "Not only that, but I found the traitor and his accomplice and have noticed my team, but I believe I have found something far greater in value." I added smugly. I was playing a dangerous game- that I know but this'll surely get me back in their good graces.

"Something more valuable than the murderers of your beloved Elder Zuriel?!" They all barked. I grimaced but regained my posture. "Indeed. The boy has ichor running through his veins. I tasted it for myself- it tastes exactly how the stories described! Did you not wonder how I managed to travel back so fast? My abilities and senses were enhanced beyond belief!"  I exclaimed and to say their expressions were priceless were an understatement. They had only ever shown either rage or disinterest, but their faces showed shock.

"If we were to drain him- extract his bone marrow and-" they cut me off before I could finish. "How do we know this isn't all some trick? An elaborate scheme to win us over?" Elder Leon grumbled, sharing the same barren voice as the others. This wasn't a surprise as the three were all one entity. "Mind-read. You'll know that I'm telling the truth."

They closed their eyes and I felt my mind being pried into. Shifting through my memories they found the one. Having your memories probed  was a completely different experience, rather than remembering the moment it was as of you were reliving it. I was scoping out the area during the night, thankful that he pretended he actually needed sleep. Out of nowhere, the boy he insisted so dearly on sheltering appeared out of nowhere.

I hadn't planned on feeding on him. I intended to force information out of him, tell me all he knows about the traitor then kill him. Draw that traitor and his partner out then deliver him to the Elders. But his blood called to me. I could see it glowing in the very veins just beneath his skin. I closed my eyes just for a second and the next thing I knew my fangs were sinking into neck and I was feeding on the blood of God's. Apparently they had seen enough and severed our connection. They looked shocked, again. There was a stunned silence. "Forget the traitor- we want that boy!" They all barked. I nodded with another smirk. "As you wish, my Elders. I assume there will be a reward?" I risked.

Eyes filled with greed and rage pinned me down. "Not only will you be pardoned for your crimes, but you shall be rewarded with more Ichor. We'll become one with the Gods!" They cheered, all three of them standing up and stretching their arms out. My eyes lit up. I could already taste it. More ichor.

Not only was I going to capture the boy, but I was going to make sure Alaric paid. He deserves what's coming for him .

Henry

I sat was folding up all of Lu's new clothes and placing them inside a cardboard box, getting ready to leave. I've had enough of their antics and I just wanted to go home. Lu had come back, appearing from the bushes with leaves tangled in his hair and a few new scratches.

I was hoping to make my best out of whatever this was but they proved that to be a challenge. I also decided I was going to bring Lu down to the police department. Surely they'll have a missing persons report on him, then he can be reunited to whoever is trying to find him. I'll admit that hurt to think about but I couldn't just keep him!

I stepped out of the caravan with the box and headed for the car and of course Alan was the first one to spot me. "Henry? What are you doing?" He questioned, getting out of his seat and jogging over. "I'm going home, Al." I answered sternly, opening the car door and placing the boxes inside. "And unless you want to drive me and Lu I'll be taking the car."

He gave me an incredulous look. "You can't go back. It isn't safe!" He argued causing me to roll my eyes. "Whoever broke in surely would have moved on by now," I retorted. I motioned Lu to follow me to which he complied almost instantly. "So? Are you driving us or not?" I asked. There was nothing he could say that would change my mind. He didn't answer and I was getting impatient so I hopped in, Lu doing the same. "Come by and pick it up whenever." I grumbled before backing out. This in itself was a dick move, a big one but he had to put up with it. I was thankful for him taking care of me but all of them were keeping something from me and I absolutely hated being lied to.

Lu inspected the contents of the box and lifted up one of his shirts, bringing it up to his face. "Doesn't smell like Hen." He grumbled before throwing it back inside the box. If this man wasn't so cute I probably would have found that creepy.

I thought about the our pending trip to the police station and decided it'd be best to tell him now, rather than later. I was going to have to get him to an actual doctor just to check up on his wound and maybe patch it up better as I was rusty when it came to treating the human body.

"Tomorrow we're going down to the police station. We're going to find whoever is looking for you!" I explained, trying to sound as enthusiastic as I could. He look startled, then frightened. "No." He spoke. My eyebrows raised. Why didn't he want to go? Didn't he want to find his family? A friend? A lover?

"We have to. I should've brought you sooner," I dismissed what he had to say. "Don't want to go!" He yelled like a child. I looked at him through the mirror and sure enough he was as angry as he sounded. "Lu, we have to go. If there isn't a missing report on you, we can go back to mine and watch movies, okay?" I compromised. I was treating him like a child. Act like one, get treated like one. I highly doubted there would be no missing report anyway. He nodded, but still looked cross. He didn't talk to me for the rest of the car ride, only brooding in the back, his arms crossed over his chest. I kept my eyes on the road as we drove into town, noticing the weird quick glances I'd get from random people passing by. They'd stare me down as if they could see me from afar when the windows were up and were tinted.

I chalked it up to being my nerves as I absently rubbed my sore neck. I stole a peek from the mirror and looked at Lu who was sitting upright, staring out the windows at something. He reminded me of an alerted dog.

My remark reminded me of the wolf and the cave. If whatever happened that night wasn't real and all a dream, then that cave didn't exist. If I could find it then I could prove that what happened was real.

Maybe out visit to the police station would have to wait a little longer.
