The next morning I woke up with Billie still wrapped in my arms. I slowly untangled us and she grabbed a pillow to hold into her chest. I snuck out of the room. I sat on the couch and scrolled through my phone. My thoughts immediately went to touring and leaving Billie. Before I knew it I was making my way back to our bedroom. Billie was still in the same position. I tried to crawl in without waking her but failed. She opened her eyes and frowned. "Morning beautiful." I whispered. "Hi." she said. I got up and handed her water. "drink and take these." I said. She sat up a little. "I feel like shit." she mumbled. "I bet." She looked at me and set her glass down. "I need to pee." she said. I crawled back over the bed and opened my nightstand drawer. I fumbled with the velvet box in my hands. I heard her coming back. I slammed the drawer and sat back in the bed. She rubbed her eyes and yawned. "Okay. I'm going back to bed." she yawned. I opened my arms and she curled back in them. I ran my fingers through her hair and she sighed.

A few hours later I woke up to Billie gone. I sat up and yawned. I heard her in the living room. I walked down the hallway to see Finneas sitting on the sofa. "Hello sleepy head." he said. Billie looked at the floor, deep in thought. "hi." i said. he smiled and turned back to Billie. I grabbed a water and made my way back to the bedroom. I felt my phone buzz and I saw that Lauren was facetiming. "Oh hello." I said to a sleeping baby. Lauren flashed onto the screen. "meet Sara." she said. "She is so precious." I said. She smiled. "You wanna come meet her?" she asked. Billie walked back into the room. She sat next to me and placed her head on my shoulder. "I would love too!" i said. "Okay! I'll text you when she's up." she said. I smiled. Billie peeked. "aw." she whispered. i laid my head on Billie's. "okay. I'll see you later bye." she said. "bye." I put my phone down. Billie sat up and looked at me. She sighed. "What's up?" I asked. "Stressed." She said. i frowned. "Anything i can do?" I asked. She smiled. "No." I smiled. "Come on." I said. she raised her eyebrow. I ran the bathtub with warm water and added a bathbomb. Billie smiled. I began to undress. "wait." i said. I grabbed a speaker and a few candles. Billie watched me lit the candles. I played a soothing playlist. I turned back to her and she wrapped her arms around me. "I love you so much." she said. I smiled. "Okay. Get undressed." I said. I stepped into the tub and sighed as the warm water surrounded me. Billie stepped in and leaned her back on me. She laid her head back and sighed. "This is nice." she breathed. I ran my hands down thighs and she breathed out. "How are you feeling?" I asked. "better than earlier." She said. "That's good." we were quiet after that.

"I really don't want to leave." I said. "I just wanna cancel and be with you." Billie whispered. "Billie-" I said. She sighed and got up. "Where are you going?" I asked. She didn't say anything and wrapped herself in a towel and walked out. I drained the water and followed her. "Mamas-" I said. She sniffled. "What's wrong?" I asked. "I feel like I'm not doing anything right." She looked at me. "Why do you say that?" I slowly asked sitting down next to her. "Four venues dropped me." She said. "Why?" I asked. "I don't know. But Finneas is upset and I feel like I let him down." "Billie. You didn't let anyone down. There has to be an explanation for why they dropped you." I reasoned. She sighed. "I just want to quit and not do it anymore." She said. She looked at me and I was speechless. I got up and went over to my nightstand. I fumbled for the box. I sat back next to Billie and she looked at my hands. "I wanted to wait but this seemed like the perfect time." I said. She looked up at me in confused. I handed her the small box. She held it in her hand. "What?" She asked. "Open it." I nudged. She opened the top and gasped. "Do you like it?" I questioned hesitantly. She smiled. "I love it." She took our the small band and held it between her fingers. "what does this mean exactly..." she trailed off. "i had a whole speech." I mumbled. "It's a promise ring. I not only promise to marry you but I promise to be there for you no matter what. I love you Billie. More than anything." A tear slipped from her eye. "Those better be happy tears." i said. "They are." She smiled. "I just never had anyone say those words to me." she said. "I haven't had anyone care about me before. I mean besides my family but-" she trailed off. "i love you." i whispered. "I haven't love anyone like this before. You changed my entire world. I didn't think it was possible to love like this." I said. She placed the ring on her finger and turned to me. "Is this why you were acting weird?" She laughed. I nodded. "you're really hard to read so I had to make sure you would-" Billie stood up. She took my hand in hers. I grabbed her waist and pulled her into me. "I had the same idea." she said. "what?" I asked. she walked to the dresser and pulled out a box. "Billie- i" she stood in between my legs as she handed me the box. "I love you y/n. I know I want to spend the rest of my life with you and I can't wait. You're the best thing that has ever happened to me. I promise to love you forever." she opened the box and i wiped my eyes. "Are you crying?" she asked. "Happy tears." I said. She slipped the band onto my fingers. She bent over and kissed me softly. "I don't think I've seen you cry." she said. i laughed. My phone buzzed. "That's probably Lauren." i said. Billie kissed me again and went to change. I looked to see that Lauren did text me. "On the way." i said. I quickly got dressed. "Do you want to come?" I asked Billie. she nodded.
