Chapter 31

JJ’s POV

As soon as the elevator doors opened my heart started beating so loudly I thought the whole hospital might be able to hear it. I was going to see Spence at last after a long time. I missed him. I missed everyone for that matter. I was looking at the room numbers 307, 308, 309… and finally 310. I was so scared to face him but I knew that I need to, I loved him and he knew that. Emily wheeled me in and went to get some clean bandage for my cuts which gave me some time alone with Spencer. I looked at him, he looked so peaceful, was he asleep? I took his hand in mine and he slowly opened his eyes and smiled. I smile back but I could feel tears welling up in my eyes.

“Hey, beautiful.” He says.

"Hey, Spence.” I say slowly stroking his hand.

“JJ I am so glad you are okay.” he tells me.

“Spence I am glad you are okay.” I say with tears streaming down my face now. He slowly frees his arm from my hand and runs it to my cheek and wipes away the tears.

“My love for you is too strong I couldn’t leave you. I am not going anywhere.” He says with a smile. I lean in and he gets the hint and he brings his lips to mine, sending shivers up and down my spine. I looked into his brown eyes and rested my cheek in his hand, as he was tenderly stroking it.

“Well I see you are awake pretty boy!” I hear a voice behind me say, it was Morgan. I turn around and I am taken into a bone crushing hug by Garcia.

“OMG JJ I am so glad you are okay.” Garcia says as she squeezes tighter.

“I am just fine well I never really fully recovered.” I say as to imply that I have been in better positions.

“Derek did you call Hotch?”

“I forgot I will be right back.” He says as he exits the room.

“Okay spill it.” Garcia, Reid and I say at the same time.

We all start laughing so hard my stomach hurt. Once I gained composure I look at Garcia and she tells the story from that evening. Derek went all the way to her house from here, that was adorable.

“Now your turn.” She says as she finishes the last detail of her story.

“Okay well it all started at Oklahoma Central Hospital, when I confronted Will and well he said he couldn’t deal with my schedule anymore and was complaining about how he doesn’t see me enough. So he left which I interpreted as a break-up since he said we were done…” once I finished my story Garcia was in tears. I didn’t know if it was happiness or sadness.

“Reid’s always loved you.” He made me promise not to tell you as long you are with Will.” She said smiling.

“I didn’t realize until recently how much I love him.” I say looking into Spencer’s eyes and giving him a long kiss. At which Garcia squealed so loud I honestly thought the entire full hospital heard it.

Emily came running in confused and scared.

“What did I miss?” she asks as she sat down beside my wheelchair to change my bandages.

Garcia looks at me and I nod and she tells Emily.

“JJ and Reid are in love.” She says.

“I knew it.” She replies smiling.

I look at her confused, but she doesn’t say anything else as she changes my bandages and I keep holding Spencer’s hand.
