On the way back to the common room Marlene and I flocked Lily. We prodded and teased her until we thought she would crack.
"So what made you say yes?" I said grinning mischievously.
"We first off, this does not mean we are together, and besides I though this would make him stop asking me all the time." She said simply.
Marlene and I shared a look and we both made tsking sounds, "Lily, Lily, Lily. It's okay we know you are starting to warm up to him. You just have to admit it."
"Well I guess, he is maturing a bit...." Lily started hesitantly.
Marlene and I high-fives each other and hugged Lily, "You got this girl, one day you'll be walking done the isle making your way towards James."
Lily let out a loud sigh and we all burst out laughing. Our friendship was stronger than any curse Voldemort could ever cast.
When we were in the common room the boys sat next to us and from the look on James face I could tell that the boys were teasing him as well.
We all sat there and began to talk about our plans for the future. It turns out that Sirius and James both wanted to be Aurors, Lily was still deciding, and then I decided that I was going to be a missionary.
We all joked about what we were going to do when we finally graduated next year.
Soon James went back to his old ways and I could tell that Lily was growing accustom to the boys craziness. We all were.
"Hey, Emily!" I heard Sirius shout one fine January morning.
I turned around, "Yes fluffy?" I said teasingly.
He shot me a glare, then when he caught up with me he flipped me over his shoulder.
"Put me down!" I yelled as we both laughed.
"Not until you tell me that I'm the most handsome man in all of Hogwarts!" He said then he started to tickle me. "Never!" I yelled rebelliously.
After a minute or so I could barely breathe, "Fine-you-r the-most-handsome-m-man in-all-of h-Hogwarts!" I shouted trying so hard to wiggle my way of his shoulder.
"Why thank you!" He said as he placed me down.
"Compared to Flitch at least." I mumbled.
When he realized what I had just said he turned his head, "Wait a minute-
But it was too late I was already running. He changed into a black dog and then I changed into a husky. He chased me but each time I managed to lose him. Finally when I began to slow down for a bit he jumped on me. We both changed back into humans and he tickled me mercilessly.
We lay there laughing.
"Hey, Emily?" Sirius asked.
"Yes?" I said starring at the sky.
"Could you go to Hogsmeade with me?" He said turning over to face me.
"Why not." I said grinning.
We both then got up and walked towards the Great Hall where we met up with everyone else. We both sat down and waited for Dumbledore to make his announcements.
"Students, as you all know Voldemort is rising." He said loudly before pausing.
There was series of mumbling throughout the Great Hall and I couldn't help but think of my parents. Lily gave me a small pat on the back and Dumbledore continued his speech.
As he talked I began to dose off. Suddenly Lily began to shake my shoulders and I yanked my head up accidentally bumping someone in the head. I stated to apologize and saw Regulus Black standing there.
"I am so sorry." I said quickly.
He just shrugged and continued to walk. I sat there awkwardly and buried my face in my arms. Lily patted my shoulder lightly, but Marlene just grinned, "Well lets be thankful that it was your brother-in-law." She said teasingly.
I grumbled and began to eat my food.
Once we were finished I realized that it was Friday and I began to prepare for my first Bible study. Lily and Marlene helped me until it was all set.
"So what's the plan?" Marlene asked.
I grinned, "You'll just have to wait and see."
She then grumbled something that sounded suspiciously like 'I'm a very busy woman and I haven't got all day' and Lily and I proceeded to burst out laughing.
"Come on let's see who actually shows up." I said laughing.
In the end a lot of people showed up. At first I was shocked, then I was thrilled.
"Okay today I will be reading Psalm 55:22,
22 Cast your cares on the Lord
and he will sustain you;
he will never let
the righteous be shaken."We had an amazing discussion and I honestly thought that some of them were going try to attack everyone because of the way the played everything out. We had did a small skit and you would never believe some of the people's acting skills.
After everything had wrapped up people thanked me and walked away staring intently at their new Bibles, and trust me, they were not cheap.
Finally we returned to our dorm rooms and Lily and I talked about what we were going to wear tomorrow, with the help of Marlene.
"Thanks you guys." I said hugging them.
The smiled and hugged me back.
Oh God, please don't this moment ever end.
