I walk into class the next day and Jungkook is standing at his desk with the usual posse of girls around him. But as soon as he spots me, he makes his way toward my desk.
"Hey buttercup," he greets with a sly smile.
"That's not my name, Jungkook." I tell him.
"Would you rather me call your friends 'buttercup'?" He pokes with his eyebrow arched.
"I don't care." I glare at him.
He mumbles something under his breath and I shift my weight to one leg, "Mind saying that again?"
"Nah, I'm good." He kicks his feet up on my desk and leans back in the chair while spinning a pen between his fingers.
Jessie comes over and Jungkook smiles up at her, "Hey, buttercup."
"Hi?" She smiles cutely and I clench my jaw a little at their interaction. Jungkook looks at me with a 'told you so' expression and skillfully flips the pen up, catching it without glancing at it before getting out his notebook.
»»»one week later, Friday»»»
It's now Friday and I don't feel like working on that history presentation. I walk to my dorm after classes and as usual, Jungkook is right next to me the whole time.
"You're like a lost puppy." I remark.
"So I'm cute enough to keep?" He smirks and I roll my eyes with a small smile pulling at my lips.
"Don't you have other people to bother?" I ask and glance up at him, but when our eyes meet I look away again.
"I do." He confirms, "I'll just do that at the party tonight."
"You're going to that, too?" I try to sound disappointed but it ends up coming out as excited.
"Duh," When we reach the dorms he opens the door for me and I go in first. "I go to every party I'm invited to."
"So.... Most of them?"
"You betcha." He smiles haughtily.
"Why would they want you at their party?" I attempt keeping my rudeness in the forefront of my attitude but I'm kind of getting tired of forcing myself to combat everything he says and does.
"Unlike you, I can actually be lively. People love me at parties."
I get my key out and unlock the door, "Because I'm just so dead inside, right? I don't know how to have fun?"
"At least you admit it." He comments when we walk in and drop our bags on the couch.
The corners of my mouth pull into a smile, "Let's get at least one of the slides of the presentation done."
"I kind of just want to ditch the presentation today." He tells me and goes to my mini-fridge in search of food, crouching down to get a better look. "Do you just want to hang out until the party?"
"Unless you're working on the presentation, there's no reason for you to be here." I deny his offer.
"So if I have the presentation up on my laptop can I stay here?" His head pops up from behind the mini-fridge door and all I can see are his big doe eyes.
"Nope," I look away and sit on the couch. "If you're gonna be here, you're gonna work on the presentation."
"Okay." He stands and closes the fridge door. He makes his way to the couch and I'm more than surprised when he slings his bag over his shoulder.
