The party

If I started narrating all the thoughts that have wandered my mind in the period between Arsen's meeting with me I'd need a whole book for that. But I am pretty sure it's obvious what they might be. Here we are, half an hour away from the party and I am already in my dress applying the final touches to my makeup. I liked how I looked and knew so well I was going to grab some attention (yeah I'm confident this way LOL). I called Nicole's room and she said she was going down to the party right after she hangs up with me so I said that I'll follow her right away.

Before I did I took a look at myself in the mirror and saw someone I'm not very familiar with. My whole life I was in pants or comfortable clothes, even dressing up for occasions still leaned towards the practical side rather than the fancy one. And I gotta admit, if it wasn't for Arsen, I wouldn't have bought this dress or even noticed it in the store. If it wasn't for Arsen I wouldn't have done so many things.

I stepped out of my room slowly getting used to my heels and making sure I don't step on the trail. And then I reached the party hall. I gasped for air cuz Justin was true when he said it's like Met Gala, Damnnn this was the Met Gala (not literally of course,) but Mr. Luiz had style and I am beyond impressed. I searched for Nicole between the crowds trying to pretend that my eyes didn't fall off out of impressive everything was. And then I saw Cameron walking towards me with genuine heart eyes.

"I am sorry." He said with the biggest smile on his face. "I was looking for captain Destiny and I couldn't help but noticing the most beautiful lady in all Bern."

"Ha ha ha ha, you're so funny." I rolled my eyes. "But thanks for the cute compliment."

"Oh cap, I still didn't even start yet." He smiled so I smiled back.

"You look amazing too." He did look good, he had a black suit that fit him well, and a lovely silk tie that was perfectly tied. But then again, it's very easy for them to look good. All they gotta do is dress in a black suit, with no creativity at all. But for us ladies, it takes an arm and a leg to look acceptable.

"Well well well, look at you two." Nicole said approaching us.

A cycle of compliments started being exchanged amongst the three of us and even when Justin arrived; however, all I did about it was smile and nodd my head gently with blushy cheeks. Soon after the guests started showing up, one after the other. Even Mr and Mrs. Luiz were already there. However, Lesandra and Kayl were no where to be seen. How obvious was it that they were together.

Meanwhile, I enjoyed myself. Just hung out, drank champagne, listened to some music, and enjoyed the compliments falling on me from just about everyone who saw me. And Do Not Get me started on the food! I'm quite sure that those were the best meals I have ever had. Salmon, lamp, shrimps, lobster, steak, and whatever other foods that coast a fortune, were being served around the clock by waitresses in sparkly crop tops with the flirtiest smile on their faces.

"How does everyone think of the party so far?" Mr. Luiz proudly said.

"It's BEAUTIFUL." Justin said or may I say kissed Mr. Luiz's ass. Little does he know, little does everyone know, they should be kissing Arsen's ass as well.

"Now excuse me." Mr. Luiz smiled. "I have to go take care of my VIP guests."

Speak of VIP guests, they were too many to count. CEOs of multimillion worth companies, businessmen- some with shady backgrounds, entrepreneurs, people who own cities and even own lives. Nicole and Justin tried their best to make friends out of all those people while I had my eyes looking for something else, or to be more precise, someone else. And then I saw him. Kayl, and Lesandra walking in together, hand in hand. Yes, hand in hand.

"I know this isnt proper time, but.." Nicole mumbled. "Told you so." She smirked walking towards them to say hi.

Lesandra had a tiny metallic long sleeved dress on. Her heels were longer than my legs, and her hair was thicker than my patience to keep up with Kayl's bullshit. A lot of helloes, hugs, and kisses, Lesandra was pulling Kayl behind her like her purse. A while later the air felt a little thinner and I decided to step out to the terrace to breath in some air. I stood outside for a while, the view was worth a million dollars, so I chose the fresh air and Switzerland's views over all this hastle inside. And then, as expected, I was joined by Arsen.

"Having fun?" He said in his usual cold tone.

"Yeah!" I stated sarcastically. "Not as much fun as you are having though."

"You like your dress?" He asked me turning around to face me.

"Oh." I blurted. "I never got the chance to thank you that other day, so uhm, thank you for it. Uh,, and ah, you payed for it and I want to pay you back."

"Pay me back." He mocked me raising his eyebrows. "Should I remind you that I technically pay you your salary?" He inquired sarcastically.

"Ugh, you're so full of yourself." I rolled my eyes trying to walk back in to the party but he grabbed my forearm gently pulling me back towards him.

"I don't like Lesandra." He admitted.

"I don't care." I shaked my head carelessly. "It's your life, who am I to interfere?"

"Yeah right, who are you?" He said taking a few steps backwards. "You're just the one person I chose to tell my secrets."

"Were you planning on telling me or did you tell me cause you found out I know a lot about you?" I asked him the question that might give me a little peace of mind. He waited for a while though before he replied and then said:

"I don't tell people things to shush them or to make sure they can't harm me Destiny, if that's what you have in mind." He paused. "I don't tell people things because they threaten me, because no threatens me."

"Everyone, everyone Arsen." I assured him. "Everyone is scared of something, is threatened by something or someone. The only difference between you and everyone else is that you never let the world know what scares you."

"But you know what scares me." He added. "In fact, with the right amount of determination -which I know you have- you can fuck me up." He sweared, for the second time ever since I met him.

"I'm glad you know that." I marveled.

"But you know, that's not what scares me from you." He said. "You know what scares me from you?" Say what now?

"I scare you?" I wondered crinckling my eyes.

"Well, something about you does." He corrected me. "It scares me that you're the only person here who makes me feel like she can outsmart me."
