A peep dug a hole in my ear and I felt the headache before I could move my fingertips. I didn't have enough strength in me to open my eyes but I managed to feel my surroundings and hear them too. I was on a soft material, a bed or a couch, so not on the ground of the forest anymore. There was cool air around me and indoor quietness. I one by one put my shit back together and managed to open my eyes. I was in a room with those beige curtains half opened, on a bed covered with a floral green blanket. I slowly got up a bit so I would be sitting down on the bed, and then I realized that I wasn't in my clothes; I was dressed in a sky blue rope with only my bras and underwears underneath it. Wow so a stranger undressed me.
I got up, sick of not knowing what was going on. I reached the door that wasn't closed all the way, so I peaked out a bit to see what was going on. I saw a familiar setting, oh shit! That’s Arsen’s house!
Oh boyy, alright, god please put some strength in me so I can step out and survive this all, and so I did. I took very slow steps, one by one following a voice I heard from a distance. Until I reached a room with a closed door so I laid my ear on the door hoping to hear what was going on in there. It was Arsen’s voice talking but not receiving a reply, so he was talking on the phone (as fucking usual)!
"I know what you’re trying to say, I understand. I’ve got it all planned out, mostly for our own good. It’ll all be fixed on time." He said. "Is that so? Alright then, I’ll call you back." I freaked out when I heard this line and quickly rushed away from the door and back in to that room I was at and laid on the bed again pretending to be asleep. A couple minutes passed and I could heard footsteps inside the room, my body froze in place and acted dead.
I then heard the curtains getting opened widely and I felt the sun on my body getting me warmer.
"Destiny." I felt a soft touch on my arm. "I know you are conscious, come on get up." I opened my eyes slowly to see his face. He had a bruise by his jawline, it seemed like an uppercut took him by chance.
"What am I doing here?" I asked getting up slowly.
"I can ask you the same question." He replied giving me a blaming attitude.
"I,, uhh, I was on a walk and fainted." I desperately lied.
"A walk? Yeah?" He nodded sarcastically. "A walk after me?" He said sitting on the bed next to me.
"I wasn’t following you." I shaked my head.
"Really? Cuz that’s not what the taxi driver who dropped you off said." He stated confidentially.
"Look, I know I made a mistake." I sighed. "I was worried you’d be doing something dangerous that would end up by me receiving another creepy message."
"So you followed me to?" He inquired.
"To feed my curiosity, okay?!" I yelled sick of all that embarrassment.
"Your curiosity is going to take you places, mostly bad ones." He sighed.
"Just give me back my clothes so I can leave." I mumbled scratching the back of my head.
"Uh-humm." He got up and reached for the closet and got my clothes out of it.
"And why exactly did you undress me?!" I shrugged.
"To feed my curiosity." He smirked handing me my clothes, I involuntarily blushed after imagining how the situation must have been like, so he added. "Relax! The maid did most of the work, I would never undress an unconsious woman with non-innocent intentions. What kind of man do you think I am? I behaved, promise."
"Well Arsen, you are many things, but pervert isn’t one of them." I smiled.
He stepped out of the room so I can get dressed, I could smell his perfume all over me: my clothes, my hair, my skin,, I was overwhelmed by so much Arsen in the air. After I was fully dressed, it hit me. What time was it?! I rushed out of the room and downstairs to see Arsen sitting by the head of a dinning table.
"What time is it?" I cried, he looked up to me with a cold attitude and replied "About 10 am."
"So I slept over at your place,, all night, and so did you?" He nodded back. "Oh boy." I sighed. "That doesn’t really help much in our case."
"Just sit and eat already." He ordered as if my worries are bullshit.
A maid approached us to pour orange juice in our glasses, I silently ate for a bit and tried to shut away my worries. He was quietly eating, his face centered on his plate, I could feel his eyes on me every once in a while and ignored it all mosly embarassed by my stupid naiive actions. But gladly he didn’t seem to be so annoyed, which is way too sweet for someone like Arsen.
"I got you a doctor last night by the way." He added. "But you really should pay more attention to your meds." He stated quietly.
"I know." I sighed. "I’m sorry for always doing this. But I promise you, I pay attention to my meds when we are flying and take my them beofre every flight I swear."
"It’s okay." He nodded with a soft smile on his face. "I am worried about you and your wellbeing that’s all." I had no words to reply back with, only an overwhelming desire to cry.
"I am perfectly aware of how wrong I am to be doing all this." I paused holding back my tears. "I just can’t accept the idea that right after all this time waiting to go back to flying then this all gets taken away from cuz of some illness I can’t even control." And there goes the water work. I started crying like an idiot.
I’ve spent a while sobbing until I got my shit back together and then Arsen passed me a tissue so I took it from him without looking up to him. He seemed to have nothing to say about it, and I never expected him to. I headed to the bathroom and washed my face and decided to pretend like this whole thing never happened. By the time I was out Arsen was already in the car waiting for me so we can head back to the hotel.
The car ride was quiet, I noticed he was focused on the road so I decided to take a look at him. And that’s when I noticed the bruise on his face.
"What happned to your face?" I asked.
"Nothing that concerns you." He replied without skipping a beat.
"Come on, just tell me!" I insisted. "I cried in front of you and all you did was pass me a tissue, you owe me."
"Yeah, maybe another question." He said raising his eyebrows.
"Alright fair enough." I agreed. "Did you always know that I was following you?"
"Yes." He nodded. "You just suck at this honestly." He said sarcastically.
"I do, dont I." I laughed. "Thanks for having my ass,,, as usual."
"You got it." He nodded with a soft look on his face that showed no sign of irritation. It seemed to me like a part of him liked it, a part of him didn't entirely hate having my back. And that relieved me so so much.
Everything was going well, the day went better than expected and I didn’t die. I thought I was ready to take the storm waiting for me in the hotel. Little did I know, it wasn’t just a little storm that an umbrella was gonna be able to protect me from, it was a motherfucking tornado.
