"Now, where to begin? Do you want the longer, detailed explanation or the shorter one?" Evangeline asks me.

"Uh..." I hesitate.

"Longer one it is. Well, have you ever heard of the Land Under The Hill, or otherwise known as Prythian?"

I nod. I've heard of Underhill before, but only in stories, a few times. Never heard of Prythian before. A land of faeries and stuff. It's probably not real. Apparently, Fae so powerful they could level entire continents within weeks and destroy lives with single breaths. Not the tiny ones from Tinker Bell.

"Well, it's a land of Fae, divided into eleven Courts. A Court is a region of that land, and each one has different Fae with, let's say, powers. The eleven Courts are distinguished by its inhabitants' powers, control of each element, time of the day, and such.

"So, there's the Ice Court, the Ocean Court, the Flame Court, the Forest Court, the Wind Court, the Storm Court, the Shadow Court, the Light Court, the Night Court, the Day Court, and the Dawn Court. You got all that?"

I nod again, and Rowan continues, as if reciting this from memory.

"Like she said, each Court has a special skill set. Bear in mind, they're all deadly. Now for the elemental Courts. Residents of the Ice Court can control snow, never feel cold, and freeze people to death.

"The Ocean Court can create water from thin air, drown people and produce boiling water, or icy water.

"The Flame Court can create and manipulate any and all fire. They can burn others alive, a single Flame Fae can incinerate hundreds at once, and an army of them could destroy the world.

"The Earth Fae can create and sense all and any type of poison, they can control plants to their will, and create any type of plant. Now that might not seem so dangerous, but imagine what it would be like to slowly get strangled by a vine unawares. Oh, and they can cause earthquakes.

"The Wind Court can do anything to do with air, like make tornados and suck the oxygen from your lungs till you die. Their wind can knock over cities and leave no trace.

"The Fae of Storm can summon lightning storms, thunder, hurricanes, anything to do with weather at any place or time. You could be in a desert and they could make a tsunami drown you. No further explanation, I think, is needed.

"Next is the Shadow Court. They can shift from solid to air, invisible to visible, and they can go through almost anything, which makes them near impossible to kill, so don't try. They can melt into shadows and appear somewhere else. One could sneak up behind me and stab me right now, and I wouldn't know till I was dead.

"The Light Court is the last elemental and smallest Court, with their population half of Storm's, which is the second smallest. The Light Fae are dying out, but that doesn't make them any less deadly. They can absorb light and sound, and set it loose somewhere else. Let's say they heard the THX logo, um, a hundred times during a year and absorbed it all. Then they decided to let it all free at once. Looking at that, you can tell they have the ability to make you go deaf or blind, since they can do that with light, too. Don't underestimate them." Rowan finishes.
