The following days for Hazel were a dream. People looked at her now not with fear but with admiration, even the teachers now were giving her little more respect.

She sat eating alone at the Great Hall enjoying her lunch while reading today Daily Prophet. Hazel skimmed read the paper, half of the news were boring Ministry stuff, James Potter Quidditch team wins a match against a foreign team blah blah blah... Sirius Black— Wait, Sirius Black?

Hazel stopped at the page and started to read the news:

Sirius Black, famous Auror announces he will be taking some time off. The reason for this is unknown but some people believe the recognized Auror is rumored to have found a new woman—

How ironic that the man can't even speak to his own daughter and now he is going after a woman he probably doesn't even know.

In other news Remus Lupin, St Mungo's healer and werewolf activist, is returning to England after a year off, it is to believe Lupin has brought with himself a book he wishes to publish about all his exciting adventures...

She actually thought Lupin was alright. The man was their DADA last year, he even managed to make Hazel like the class. And while he left the school for good he still wrote to her letters. He told her everything about his trips as a healer and the illness he has cured all around the world, Hazel never wrote back but it was nice to have something to look forward to. Unfortunately the letters became less and less until he stopped writing at all, though Hazel still looks forward to a letter delivered to her until this day.

Hazel flinched when she heard little Malfoy come to her wearing a badge that said-

SUPPORT HAZEL BLACK, THE REAL HOGWARTS CHAMPION

Her eyebrows rose questioning as to why they would do something like this when suddenly the badge changed saying—

POTTER STINKS

Hazel snorted on her own food laughing really loud instantly wanting one for her own. A feeling of pity for the boy came to her but it quickly was gone when she remembered it was time Potter learns the word doesn't revolve around him.

Potter had attempted to talk to her since they were chosen but Hazel notices he often regrets it, when he sees her hard eyes on him, he instantly turns to another way.

Deciding there was no point in going to DADA just because, Hazel walked to Hagrid's. On her way a small second year Hufflepuff stepped in front of her.

"Miss- the- they... Are waiting for the champions in-in D-Dumbledore's office" the small girl said stuttering at feeling Hazel grey eyes on her.

Hazel rolled her eyes and turned directions so she was heading to the headmasters office.

Once she arrived all the champions were already there, Viktor Krum was standing moodily in a corner as usual and not talking to anybody. Fleur was in conversation with a weird looking woman.

Ludo Bagman suddenly spotted Hazel, got up quickly, and bounded forward.

"Ah, here she is! Champion number four! In you come, Black, in you come. . . nothing to worry about, it's just the wand weighing ceremony, the rest of the judges will be here in a moment -"

"Wand weighing?" Hazel repeated.

"We have to check that your wands are fully functional, no problems, you know, as they're your most important tools in the tasks ahead," said Bagman. "The expert's upstairs now with Dumbledore. And then there's going to be a little photo shoot. This is Rita Skeeter," he added, gesturing toward the weird witch in magenta robes. "She's doing a small piece on the tournament for the Daily Prophet. . . . "
