"DRAGONS?!" Hazel exclaimed as she entered Hagrid's hut just a day before the first task. "THE FIRST TASK IS DRAGONS? AND YOU ARE ONLY TELLING ME THIS? YOU DIDN'T EVEN TELL ME!"Hazel watched as Hagrid nervously stood up from a chair, passing by her and walking towards where he kept all his hunting tools. Hazel followed him not before shutting the door. Hagrid gave her the usual sword she uses to hit the tree, not questioning him Hazel took it walking towards the tree starting to hit it really hard.
She was furious, not just because she found out today but because she knew thanks to Potter. The stupid boy even went as far to knock on the Slytherin common room portrait, deep down she was glad she now knows but it still pisses her off that Hagrid didn't bother to mention that to her. Now she is screwed, how is she supposed to fight against a dragon?
"I'm sorry Hazel" the half giant softly murmured when Hazel stopped hitting the tree trunk. She turned to look at him with a heartbroken expression and for the first time Hagrid really realized how much Hazel is needed actual help, not from him, from a professional who can help with her mental health.
All this years that she went to him for any kind of comfort was because she is in need of somebody supporting her. Hagrid feels horrible with himself because he let her down.
He watched her place the axe on the floor, sitting down too while looking down at her lap. Her raven hair fell down hiding her face making Hagrid smile at her, he still remembers when she was just a kid when she used to cry because her hair wasn't red like Lily Evans.
"I still remember you as a little girl who overwatered the plants because she didn't know when to stop giving" Hagrid spoke gaining the girl's attention again. "What happened Hazel? Were did that cute girl with pigtails and huge eyes full of wonder went to?"
She grew up and got to know the monsters the world has to offer.
Plus I got abused endlessly, but no biggie.
But she never answered. Instead, she said another thing that was bothering her, "You knew me?"
"Oh yes Hazel" he said chucking a little. How come he never mentioned this before? "Whenever your father needed to work he always chose me to look after you because you loved spending time with me in the Dark Forest"
It came as a surprise, like a glass of cold water was dumped on her. Hazel never really thought about it but now that Hagrid mentions her childhood, she doesn't remember much from before she was seven. Not even the occasional distant memory were not much is remembered but at least one could say they could recall, but she can't.
"Merlin Hagrid, enough with this sentimental crap, how am I supposed to battle a freaking dragon!" Hazel exclaimed standing up coming closer to him, she wasn't very good at dealing with strong emotions.
"Well, you technically don't have to battle with a dragon"
"What..." She murmured starting to pace around nervously picking at her already red lips.
"You are supposed to grab a golden egg from it" He explained in hopes the girl would calm down but he did the opposite.
"Oh... EVEN WORSE" her hands tightened into fists as she took deep breaths. "I might as well be dead" she murmured.
Then she suddenly remembered the first sign of magic she ever showed, the invisibility spell. Just at five years old Hazel could become invisible at her own will, it was difficult at first but she eventually leaned how to reverse the spell. She became so good at it that any minute she could perform it on herself.
"Or I might not..."

The next day she woke up early dressing up in some clothes that were already layed for her the night before. It looked just like the Slytherin quidditch robes, the only difference was that this one didn't have a number and instead of saying Merrythought it said Black.
Hazel huffed under her breath taking her wand and changing the name so it would say Merrythought. Once she was done she walked to the Quidditch pitch, she heard multiple 'good lucks' on her way, though it didn't change how nervous she felt.
She feels like at a funeral, except she's the only one mourning and everybody else cheering. From the noise inside the tent she was in, Hazel could clearly know the stands were packed with people.
Finally after Potter decided to arrive was when everything became a blur to Hazel. She felt dizzy, like she could throw up, it was as if she was drunk, to which she was glad because Hazel prefers to feel numb to what is about to happen.
She hates to admit it to herself but she had to act like a — Gryffindor.
Hazel took a deep breath before stepping out. As soon as she did the cheers died down and everyone turned to look at her. Spotting the huge animal in a corner of the stadium, sitting in what she believed the egg she is supposed to grab. She stepped forward which was a huge mistake, the dragon saw her and instantly started moving to her. Hazel acted fast and ran to hide behind a rock, hearing how the dracon blew air out of its mouth to her while the people in the stands screamed and gasped in surprise.
Hazel was breathing hard and putting all her fear aside she thought about all those times her mother abused and screamed at her, how much she loaded her father wishing for him to come and rescue her at every birthday. At will she slowly became invisible, gasps were heard around when they saw her disappeared.
Dumbledore stood up coming closer, it was almost impossible what she just did. Which he made a mental note to speak to the girl soon.
Hazel slowly started to walk up to the egg but soon realized the dragon could smell her. The animal was following her with its eyes though it did nothing. Scared, she transfigured a a rock into a small bunny far from her instantly making the dragon follow the bunny.
Thanks Diggory.
She ran to the golden egg quickly grabbing it but it was too late because the dragon was after her. Hazel threw the egg close to where the exit is and starting to run after it too.
The dragon blasted fire her way burning her back. Hazel let out an agonizing scream breaking the invisibility spell on herself. She fell down to the floor hands squeezed into fists as a way to cope with the pain.
"RUN HAZEL"
She heard from somewhere in the crowd. It was all it took for her to stand up and run to the exit not before grabbing the egg, ignoring how her back burns more and more with each step she takes.
Inside the tent cheers and screams could be hear but Hazel payed no mind as she was rushed to a bed by Madam Pomfey, who ripped her shirt apart exposing the redness and burns all over her back.
The last thing she remembers was the loud scream of pain she let out making her throat burn.
