The days that followed the third task seemed to go in a fly and soon enough only a month was missing for it. Hazel knew nothing about it, and as far as her knowledge goes neither did the other contestants.

She was sitting at the Great Hall eating dinner watching as Aurelius and Kialo argued about something Hazel did not understand. They seemed to be talking about a plan of some sorts but Hazel had no idea.

"I have a solution" Hazel casually said getting their attention.

"Thank goodness" Aurelius cheered.

"It involves fire"

"Absolutely not" Kialo said. Instantly Hazel let out a snort laughing at them. She was suddenly shut when food came flying her way missing just centimeters on hitting her face but thank goodness her Quidditch reflects help her.

"Did you have to hit me with a chicken leg? Was that really necessary?" Barked Hazel at Kialo.

"Necessary, no. Hilarious, yes" Both Aurelius and Kialo laugh at her face, but Aurelius was stopped when he made eye contact with Hazel, he instantly took his eyes away from her, his cheeks and neck turning red.

She quickly finished dinner grabbing her school cloak and backpack. "I can't wait to have the opportunity to kill you both" she murmured to herself.

"I heard that!" Kialo yelled at her.

"You were supposed to!" Hazel yelled back before leaving the Great Hall. She had detention with Professor Moody for a reason she doesn't remember now, there's been so many detentions she forgot the actual reason behind them all.

Hazel walked to the library knowing that was where the detention was going to be. The girl spotted Professor Moody speaking with George. She came closer making herself present.

"Finally you are here" Moody fumed. "You and Weasley are going to sort books, I'll be back in an hour. Have fun" He said. Proceeding to leave them alone.

Hazel grabbed book after book, already knowing how to do it because of the amount of times she was forced to.

"Why did you get detention?" George asked.

Hazel grabbed another book and with her wand sent it to its place on a shelf somewhere in the library. She wasn't allowed to use magic but she did either way. "I hit Draco on the face the other day" She responded remembering the reason why, she instantly heard a laugh coming out of his throat causing a warm feeling on Hazel's stomach. "But hey, if you're going to get in trouble for hitting someone, might as well hit them hard"

The laugh that came from George was enough to make Hazel laugh as well. She felt a calm feeling inside of her when she was next to George, like as if she could be her true self and be more relaxed.

McGonagall suddenly came to the library heading towards them both. "You are to go down to the Quidditch field tonight at nine o'clock. Black," she told her. "Mr. Bagman will be there to tell the champions about the third task. "

So at half past eight that night. Hazel left the Slytherin common room and went downstairs. As she crossed the entrance hall, Harry came up from the stairs.

"What d'you reckon it's going to be?" he asked as they went together down the stone steps, out into the cloudy night. "Fleur keeps going on about underground tunnels; she reckons we've got to find treasure"

"That wouldn't be too bad," said Hazel, thinking that she would simply ask Hagrid for a niffler to do the job for her. They walked down the dark lawn to the Quidditch stadium, turned through a gap in the stands, and walked out onto the field.

"What've they done to it?" Harry said indignantly, stopping dead.

The Quidditch field was no longer smooth and flat. It looked as though somebody had been building long, low walls all over it that twisted and crisscrossed in every direction.

"They're hedges!" said Harry, bending to examine the nearest one.

"Hello there!" called a cheery voice.

Ludo Bagman was standing in the middle of the field with Krum and Fleur. Hazel and Harry made their way toward them, climbing over the hedges. Fleur beamed at Harry as he came nearer. Her attitude toward him had changed completely since he had saved her sister from the lake.

"Well, what d'you think?" said Bagman happily. "Growing nicely, aren't they? Give them a month and Hagrid'll have them twenty feet high. Don't worry," he added, grinning, spotting the less-than-happy expressions on Harry's and Hazel's faces, "You'll have your Quidditch field back to normal once the task is over! Now, I imagine you can guess what we're making here?"

No one spoke for a moment. Then-

"Maze," grunted Krum.

"That's right!" said Bagman. "A maze. The third task's really very straightforward. The Triwizard Cup will be placed in the center of the maze. The first champion to touch it will receive full marks. "

"We seemply 'ave to get through the maze?" said Fleur.

"There will be obstacles," said Bagman happily, bouncing on the balls of his feet. "Hagrid is providing a number of creatures. . . then there will be spells that must be broken. . . all that sort of thing, you know. Now, the champions who are leading on points will get a head start into the maze. " Bagman grinned at Hazel then Harry. "Then Mr. Krum will enter. . . then Miss Delacour. But you'll all be in with a fighting chance, depending how well you get past the obstacles. Should be fun, eh?"

Hazel was unhappy, wanting this to be all over so she can have a normal year at Hogwarts. However, she nodded politely like the other champions.

"Very well. . . if you haven't got any questions, we'll go back up to the castle, shall we, it's a bit chilly. . . . "

She hurried to the castle worried about how was she going to survive it all. Hazel is not exactly the best at the dark arts let alone how to defend herself, the only thing she knows how to do well is Expelliarmus and the Stupefy curse.
