just when you thought it's just another romantic lonely night and then things take a spooky turn...
👻👻👻
It was a cozy night of solitude and contentment as you comfortably lie on the bed that you and your husband, Patrick, share. Your husband was out on a world tour with Fall Out Boy and you couldn't be more proud of and happy for him.
You were reading a book, to pass the time, with an Elton John record playing in the room at the lowest volume to distract you from the deafening silence.
You were in too deep in the book you were reading that you yelped and smacked yourself in the face with the book when the electricity went out, immediately engulfing the room in darkness.
The bright moonlight illuminated the room which made it easy for you to navigate your way through. You contemplated whether to continue reading or go to sleep. You didn't want to waltz around the room, looking for the emergency light or the candles and matchbox, so you decided to go to sleep instead.
You put the book on the empty space beside you, where Patrick is supposed to be, but he isn't there to fill that space up, so you're putting the book there instead on the nightstand. You lied down and closed your eyes, allowing your body to relax and soon drift off to sleep.
Your eyes are closed but your consciousness is still active. You somehow regret taking a nap this afternoon. It's hard for you to catch sleep now.
You decided to get out of the bed and walk to the balcony with your laptop. You sat on the chair by the marble coffee table and booted up your laptop. You're gonna try to video call your husband and have a chat with him until you're sleepy.
Patrick picked up after the third ring and his face filled up the screen which immediately made your heart rate speed up and your smile turn to a grin. The hotel room that he's in is bright from the morning sun and it looks like he just woke up and is still on his bed, lying on his front; his hair dishevelled and his eyes still dreamy.
"Love!" You happily exclaimed.
Patrick also cheekily grinned at the sigh of you in his screen. "Hi, babe," he greeted. "Are you in the balcony?"
You nodded, folding your arms in front of your chest and rubbing your hands on your arms. "Uh-huh. Power outage, can't sleep, and missing you." You enumerated your reasons to him, softly smiling afterwards.
Patrick pouted his bottom lip in awe and giggled afterwards, "Aww my poor wife-baby, all cold and lonely in the dark without her lovely husband." He jokingly said as he pouted his bottom lip out.
"Ugh what's a lovely husband if he isn't here with his lonely beautiful wife." You responded in a dramatic longing tone of voice, which made Patrick laugh.
You smiled at him. "Kidding. I'm just bored and my mind is very much awake. I shouldn't have taken a nap."
"You'll need all the sleep that you can get, because when I return, we'll be just as awake as our minds." Patrick said in a playful low voice, a smirk tucked in the corner of his lips. "Louder than our minds, even." He added, waggling his eyebrows as he attempted to sexily smile at you.
You know it's him being playful but your body couldn't help but stir awake an arousal, which made you cross your legs. "Love, don't tease me like that. I've been doing okay without you here."
"I just miss you so much." Patrick said, biting his lip afterwards.
"I do too." Y/N respondrd, a brief silence settling in between them. "You look like you just woke up."
