Sergio's pov--
My eyes fluttered open and adjusted to my surroundings.

Beep beep beep

The machine beeped every time her heart beat.
I looked down at her lying in the hospital bed, she looked terrible. pale, tiny, sickly.
There were needles poking in her arms and she had a tube up her nose.
Her hospital robe hung loosely off her body, the bags under her eyes were more prominent that usual, her cheekbones sunk too deeply and her collarbones stuck out. the only thing that looked lively about her was her black shiny hair that fell in curls on the pillow.
I hadn't really noticed her very well until now, how sick she was.
I knew she was too thin, but this, I never noticed this.
I never payed attention to her, I was only negative to her.
Finally my eyes landed on her forehead, it had a bandage on in, but I could see the blood that had sept through the gauze.
How could I have just left her there.
Why didn't I help her with her bags. if I did, this never wouldn't have happened.
The doctor walked in, his grey hair was styled perfectly. He looked to be American.
"Hola Mr Ramos, I'm Dr Shepherd.
Your friend?--"
"Girlfriend" I corrected. my manager would want me to keep the act going.
"Well your girlfriend took a heavy blow to the head, but that's not the worst of it, actually it's good she got brought it, Your girlfriend ms Coentrao is severely underweight. We are feeding her through intervinas right now, Do you know when the last time she has eaten?" his words hit me like a brick wall.
"Uhm" I stuttered, trying to remember her eating.
"I can't remember the last time I have seen her eat. I knew she had an eating disorder but I wasn't aware that it was this bad" I shuffled, a feeling of guilt waved over my body an I looked at my feet awkwardly as I heard Dr Shephard scribble some notes down on his clip board.

"Well we are going to have to keep her here so we can put a feeding tube in her for now. she is very unhealthy" he tapped his pen on his clipboard and looked up at me as I took in what he said.
"Can't she just eat normally?" I knew it was a stupid question as soon as I said it.
"Well when she was awake, she did eat but she can't keep her food down, We are going to bring a therapist in maybe next week?" he scribbled something else down and gave me a professional smile.
"Can I try?" I spoke up, feeling guilt clench in my stomach.
"Uhm, I will talk to the nurse, stay here" he walked off into the hall an I sat down in the chair I had been sleeping in before.
I looked at Lucia, her eyes were fluttering open and for some reason I reached over and brushed the hair out of her face but I quickly drew my hand back.
She gave me a small smile and looked around.
"Hi" she croaked.
"Hey" I held back a smile and we just sat there staring at eachother.
Soon a nurse came in with a tray carrying a bowl containing some broth.
"Here you go" she smiled at me and left.
Lucia gave me a nervous glance and looked away, fiddling with her fingers.
"Luc, you are going to have to eat this" her eyes widened at my words and she shook her head.
"I'm not hungry" her voice was so weak.
I placed my hand on her stomach and felt it rumble.
"Lucia, you are hungry" I sighed and picked the bowl up.
"I can't Sergio" her eyes filled with water and it hurt me for some reason, I couldn't stand seeing her cry.
"Stop crying"
She glared at me and then hoped her eyes and sighed heavily.
"You can Luc, I know you can" I dipped the spoon in the soup and brought it to her mouth.
"Do you really want me to do the cho cho train?" her face broke out with a smile when I mentioned that.

Back when we were together, Cristiano jr was young so me and Lucia would babysit him sometime when cristiano and Irina had public appearances.
Anyways, I would always have to pretend the spoon was a train when I fed jr, it was the only thing that worked and some times I would do that to Lucia as a joke.

"No Sergio stop joking around" her eyes squinted and she looked down at her hands.
"its either you eat this soup, or you get something shoved down your throat"
I muttered and she looked up at me with a confused look, soon after she wiggled her eyebrows.
"And by something getting shoved down your throat, I mean a feeding tube" I chuckled at her reaction.
She giggled a bit but then her eyes got serious.
"Give me the fucking soup" I passed her the bowl and she grabbed the spoon but her hands were to week and she spilled it everywhere.
"Here let me help"
Her eyes filled with tears as she frantically moved around in her bed.
I could here the heart minister beeping faster.
"Get out!" she screamed at me.
Why was she screaming, I was only trying to help.
she started ripping out the tubes in her arms and crying and screaming profanities at me.
My face got flushed as I took in her words.
"I never asked for this, why the fuck do you want to help me, just get away from me sergio!"
Tears streamed down her hollow face.
"Fine, I try to help and this is what I get, your fucking useless" I knew it was a mistake soon as the words flew out of my mouth.

She wasn't useless.

The doctor rushed in and looked around, calling for nurses.

How could you call her useless, you don't even know what she is going through.

"I think you better go Mr. Ramos, I will call you with updates" Dr Shepherd tousled his hair with frustration as nurses tried to calm down Lucia.
"Ok" I mumbled as i looked around in confusion.

You just called her useless, how could you say that.
