TW: Panic Attack
Both men shot up immediately, moving as quickly as they could to Remus' room. They found the boy screaming at the top of his lungs and pulling at his hair tightly. The sight terrified the couple. Before Logan could stop him, Patton rushed forward and put his hand on Remus' upper arm, attempting to calm him. However, this did the exact opposite. Remus yelled and pushed Patton's hand off, curling into himself. "I-I'm sorry Father, please no more," Remus said in the most broken tone either man had ever heard. Patton felt scared and helpless, but Logan knew what to do. He had done more than enough research on the boy's conditions to realize he was having a panic attack of sorts. Luckily, he also researched how to aide a person who was in a panicked state. "Remus, can you look at me?" Logan said with a soft yet confident voice. Remus shook his head, screaming out and backing away from Logan. "That's okay love, just listen to the sound of my voice. It's just me, Logan. I'm not going to hurt you." "L-Logan?" Remus whimpered through his panic. "Yes, I'm Logan. I'm right here." Patton was shocked at how calm Logan was able to keep his voice despite the situation. He admired him greatly for that. "Breathe in with me, darling. In and out, match your breathing with mine." Remus attempted time breathe in with him but choked on his breath, causing his panic to increase. "Try again, Re. Breathe in and out. Just like that." Remus struggled to catch his breath but he was eventually able to breathe in time with Logan. "You're doing wonderfully. Keep breathing with me." Remus continued to match his breathing with Logan, eventually feeling his panic dissipate slightly. "May I touch you, Remus?" Logan asked with an incredibly soft voice. "Y-yes," Remus whimpered out. Logan moved at an incredibly slow pace, cautiously reaching out and removing Remus' hands from his curls. Remus looked into Logan's piercing blue eyes and something snapped. He couldn't help the tears spilling down his cheeks or the soft whimpers that came out of his mouth. These tears were much different than the ones from just minutes before. Before, his tears were panicked and fearful. Now, his tears were heartbroken and helpless. "Hey, I'm here love. I've got you," Logan said softly, allowing Remus to crawl in his arms and cry on his shoulder. Logan slowly rocked Remus until his tears ran out and he was silently whimpering in the man's arms. "I'm sorry," Remus whispered. "Nonesense. You have done nothing wrong," Logan replied. "I-I pushed Patton and-" "Remus, it's okay bud. I shouldn't have touched you without asking first. I'm not upset with you at all," Patton said, looking at the shaking boy with a sense of sympathy and understanding. Remus slowly pulled out of Logan's embrace and crawled into Patton's arms, leaning his head on his shoulder and hugging him lightly, attempting to show that he didn't mean to hit him or hurt him in any way. Patton returned the embrace and ran his fingers through his curls lightly, comforting the boy further. "So...bad dream I suspect?" Logan asked after a while. "Kind of," Remus whispered. "What do you mean, kiddo?" Patton asked softly. "I...well...I-" "Take your time love," Logan said in a comforting tone. Remus took a deep breath. "It was a memory," he said with his eyes looking down. He didn't want to see their expressions. "Do you want to talk about it?" Logan inquired. Remus shook his head quickly. He didn't want to ruin this family just yet. "That's okay, kiddo. Do you want to try to sleep again?" Remus shook his head harder. "That's okay too. Do you want to come in our room with us? We can watch a movie if you want," Patton said, rubbing circles on Remus' back. The boy thought about it for a moment before nodding. Patton nodded before standing and turning toward the door. Before he could take more than a step, he felt a hand slide into his own. He looked back at the scared looked boy and gave his hand a reassuring squeeze before leading the way to his and Logan's room.Upon entering the room, Patton immediately crawled under the covers before beckoning for Remus to join. The boy smiled lightly despite his exhausted and distressed state, crawling into the bed next to Patton, pulling the covers over his shivering frame. Finally, Logan joined the pair and slipped in on the other side of Remus. "So! What do you wanna watch, Re?" Remus shrugged. "How about Disney?" Patton asked. "No!" Remus shouted too quickly. "Oh, gosh, I didn't mean to upset you buddy," Patton said carefully. "No, no it's okay. I didn't mean to freak out. Just please, no Disney." Logan raised an eyebrow. "Not a fan?" Remus swallowed hard. "Just...reminds me of someone I'd rather forget." Patton and Logan shared a look, deciding not to press it any further. "Ooh! I got it! It's actually a TV ahow, but have you seen Parks and Recreation?" Remus shook his head slowly. "Congratulations, now he's going to make you watch all seven seasons," Logan saud with a grin. "Oh, hush. This is such a good show and you know it." Logan chuckled and put his hands up in surrender. Patton grabbed the remote and put on a random episode, leaving the volume loud enough to hear but soft enough to sleep if needed. The three boys leaned back and pulled the blankets over their bodies, watching the show intently. Not even a minute later, Remus was giggling softly at the show, enjoying it immensely. Patton and Logan glanced at him every so often, feeling a warm feeling in their chests every time the boy laughed. As the show progressed, Remus found himself gradually relaxing until his previous panic was completely gone. Eventually, he decided to relax his body and lean against Patton, hoping he wouldn't push him off. Much to his delight, Patton just let out a soft "aw" and wrapped his arm around the boy, pulling him closer to his chest. Remus laid against him as his attention stayed focused on the show. He couldn't help but feel like something was missing, however. After a few more minutes, he realized what the problem was. He reached out and grabbed Logan's hand lightly.
Now he had everything he needed.
