TW: Mention of a Panic Attack
When Remus was fully calm and his tears were dry, the pair made their way back to the classroom. They walked quietly back to their seats, avoiding the curious gazes of their classmates. A few minutes later, the bell rang. All of the students made their way out of the classroom quickly, leaving Dee, Remus, and Mr. Sanders in the now empty classroom. "Boys, can you come up here please," Mr. Sanders asked softly. The two boys grabbed their backpacks and made their way up to the front of the room. "What happened, Remus?" Mr. Sanders asked carefully. "Panic attack," the boy mumbled. "I think it was because of the violence in the video, Mr. Sanders," Dee said. "Is that true?" the teacher asked Remus. He just nodded, looking at the floor. Now he's going to think you're difficult. He's going to punish you for making a scene. Oh god, he's going to tell Logan. "Well, we'll have to find a way to make sure you can feel comfortable and not trigger another attack," Mr. Sanders said kindly. Remus looked up quickly in shock. "If you want, you could step out when there's a violent video or anything that may trigger you and I can fill you in on the information you will need to know," Dee offered. "You'd do that for me?" Remus asked incredulously. "Of course. Like I said, I get it," Dee replied. "If that works for you, Remus, that works for me," Mr. Sanders added. "Yeah...yeah, that works," Remus responded. "Perfect. And if you ever need to step out or take a moment alone, you don't need to ask, just do what you need to do," Mr. Sanders said with a caring tone. Remus nodded, slightly overwhelmed with all of the kindness he was receiving. "Come on, it's time for lunch. Do you want to sit with me?" Dee asked as he lead the boy out of the room and down the hallway. "Um, sure," Remus replied, confused as to why this boy was being so nice to him. However, he wasn't complaining. He rather enjoyed his company.

The rest of the day passed quickly and without incident. Finally, the final bell rang and Remus made his way to Logan's classroom. As he entered, Logan looked up from his desk and smiled softly. "Hey, Re. Did you have a good first day?" Remus smiled back. "Yeah. Yeah, I did." Logan's smile widened. "That's wonderful, love. Any problems?" Remus' mind shot back to his science class. "Sort of. But it's okay." Logan's expression changed to one of concern. "What happened, darling?" "Panic attack," Remus said softly. "Oh, no. Are you alright?" Logan asked. Remus nodded before smiling slightly. "There was actually someone who helped me. He was really, really nice. I actually think we might be friends now," Remus explained. "That's great. What's his name?" "Dee." Logan grinned. "Well, I am glad that you found someone to befriend. Was your teacher understanding?" Logan asked. "Yeah, he really was. His name was Mr. Sanders." Logan chuckled lightly. "Of course. That honestly couldn't have worked out better. Mr. Sanders is the only man I've met who is nearly as kind as Patton." Remus could see what Logan meant by that. Mr. Sanders was undoubtedly one of the nicest people he had ever met. "Are you ready to go home? Patton has been texting me nonstop for the past twenty minutes asking about how your first day went. I think he may actually combust if we don't get home soon." Remus giggled at that, nodding as he stood and pulled his backpack back on. The pair walked to the parking lot, chatting about nothing in particular. They made their way home quickly, soon pulling into the driveway. As they entered the house, Patton all but sprinted toward them. Logan laughed, catching him before he could tackle Remus in a hug. "Calm down, my love. He's perfectly fine." Patton giggled sheepishly before pulling Remus into the living room. The two sat on the couch as Logan went upstairs to change out of his professional clothing. "So, how was your day?" Patton asked. "It was really good. I actually made a friend, I think," Remus said with a grin. "Oh? That's so good, bud!" Patton grinned. "He, um, actually helped me get through a panic attack today. He was really nice." Patton's expression softened. "Aw, buddy, you had a panic attack today?" Remus nodded. "It's okay, though. Dee got me out of the classroom and helped me calm down. The teacher was really nice about it too. Didn't yell at me or anything." Patton put his arm around Remus, holding him lightly. "That's really good. I assume Dee is your new friend?" Remus nodded, relaxing in Patton's hold. A comfortable silence fell over the two until Patton spoke in a hushed tone. "I don't think he wanted me to tell you, but it was so precious I don't think I can resist. I got an interesting phone call this morning..." Patton started, trying to hide his grin. "Really? Who was it?" Remus asked. "It was from a very tearful Logan." Remus sat up quickly. "Oh no. Is he okay? Did I make him upset?" Patton shook his head. "No, bud, nothing like that. He couldn't stop crying because he had overheard you introduce yourself as 'Remus Berry'." "Oh. Was I not supposed to? I just thought-" "He was so happy he didn't know what to do with himself." Remus looked up with a shocked expression. "I have to admit, when he told me, I cried a bit too. We're both just so happy that you feel like you're apart of our family," Patton said with a soft smile. Remus couldn't help but smile back.

He really did feel like a part of the family.
