TW: Scars
After the final bell rang, Remus and Dee made their way to Logan's classroom. "Hey, Papa," Remus said with a smile as he entered the classroom. Logan looked up with a soft smile. "Hello, Remus. This must be Dee," Logan said kindly. "Yes, Mr. Berry," Dee responded. Logan chuckled. "Logan is fine. I'm glad to finally meet you. Remus has told my husband and I a lot about you," Logan said as he smirked at his son. Remus flushed bright red and sent a sheepish smile over to his friend. Dee laughed at his expression. "Don't worry, Ive talked about you to my moms too."

Logan had to bite his lip to stop himself from laughing loudly at his son's flushed expression. "Come on, boys, let's go," Logan said, grabbing his things and turning toward the door. The pair followed, Remus willing the red in his cheeks to go away. Just as Remus was about to open his door to get in the car, Dee stepping in front of him and pulled open the door for him, grinning as the boy smiled sheepishly at the action. "Thanks, Dee," Remus said softly as he climbed into the car. The ride home was almost completely silent, causing Remus to think deeply the whole way. For once, the thoughts weren't bad. His mind was filled with thoughts about the boy sitting next to him.

The car soon pulled into the driveway, prompting the three to get out and enter the house. "Is it okay if we go upstairs?" Remus asked, slightly worried about his father's reaction. Logan chuckled lightly. "Of course you may." Remus grinned before grabbing Dee's hand and pulling him up the stairs quickly.

Remus pulled Dee into his room, shutting the door behind them. Dee looked around and grinned. "I like your room," he stated. Remus smiled. "Thanks." Dee flopped down on the bed dramatically, causing Remus to giggle. "Is it cool if we put off the studying for a bit and just hang out?" Dee asked, looking up at the boy. Remus nodded, sitting on the bed. The pair talked about how their days were, enjoying each other's company. However, Remus couldn't quite focus on the conversation. Instead, he was focusing on Dee.

Specifically how Dee continuously looked down at Remus' scarred legs, staring slightly. After five minutes of this, Remus couldn't take it anymore. "Dee, I know my legs are ugly, but please don't stare," he said, his voice cracking slightly. Dee looked up at him quickly, his face filling with worry. "Oh, no, that's not-" Dee started. "You don't have to lie, I saw you staring. It's okay, but please don't do it anymore." Dee shook his head, placing his hand on Remus' arm. "I promise, I...well, I had a reason I was looking. I'm sorry for making you uncomfortable," Dee said softly. "Why were you looking, then?" Remus asked, willing himself to stay calm. Dee knew the question was coming, but it still frightened him to hear out loud. "I...can I show you something?" Dee asked, averting Remus' gaze. "Sure," Remus replied, slightly confused. "Just...please don't judge," Dee whispered. Remus' chest tightened at the boy's tone. "I'll never judge you, Dee," Remus replied in a comforting tone. Dee nodded, taking a deep breath. Remus watched attentively as Dee reached up and rubbed at his left cheek. Remus hadn't expected for a layer of makeup to come off on the boy's hand. When Dee moved his hand away, Remus gasped lightly. He had a long scar trailing from the corner of his mouth up to his ear. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have shown you. I didn't mean to freak you out," Dee said quickly, moving his hand to cover the scar. Remus grabbed the boy's hand, prying it softly from his face. "I'm not freaked out. It was just a little bit of a shock. It's okay," Remus comforted as Dee gripped his hand tightly. "This is why I was looking at your legs. People used to torment me about my scar. Called me a 'snake face' and told me that I was the ugliest thing they'd ever seen. I just thought that maybe you would understand," Dee said lowly, looking down at the bed. Remus' features softened. "Thank you for trusting me with that," Remus said softly. Dee looked up at him with slightly teary eyes. "Thank you for not running away." Remus wrapped his arms around the boy, who immediately cling to him. "I could never." Dee sniffled as he buried his face in Remus' chest. Remus just held the boy close and ran his fingers through his hair, comforting him. Remus pulled back, taking a deep breath before speaking.

"For the record, you're beautiful, scar and all."

Dee's eyes widened. He could help the wide smile that made its way onto his face. "Nobody has ever called me beautiful before," he whispered in disbelief. "Well everyone else must be blind then," Remus said with a grin. Dee stilled for a moment. "Re? Can I tell you something?" Remus nodded, prompting the boy to continue. Dee paused for a moment longer, causing Remus to worry slightly.

"I really like you, Remus."

Remus grinned. "I really like you too, Dee!" he responded. It was clear that he had missed the meaning of the word 'like' in this context. "No, Remus. I really like you. As in more than just as a friend." Remus froze. "No. No, you can't," he said quickly. Dee felt his heart drop. "I-I'm sorry, I just thought-" Remus' heartrate soed uo. "You can't like me. You can't," Remus said quickly. Dee felt a tear roll down his cheek. "I'm sorry, Remus. I didn't mean to upset you. We can just forget I said anything. I just thought that you liked me back," Dee said, his voice cracking from emotion. "I do," Remus whimpered out, his panic causing him to shake. "W-what?" Dee asked in disbelief. "I adore you," Remus whispered as tears filled his eyes. "Then why can't I like you?" Dee asked with confusion in his features. "I'm bad, Dee. I'm bad, and you're so good. You need someone better. You deserve someone better," Remus whispered, letting go of Dee's hand.

"You couldn't be more wrong," Dee said firmly. Remus looked up at him with a saddened expression. "You're the most caring and wonderful person I've ever met," Dee said. Remus felt a tear run down his cheek. "That's not true," he said softly. Dee reached up and wiped away the stray tear with his thumb. "Yes it is. You are amazing, Remus Berry." Remus' breath caught in his throat slightly. Dee left his hand on Remus' face, cupping his cheek lightly. "I don't deserve you," Remus whispered. Dee chuckled. "You're right." Remus hasn't expected that. He felt his chest tighten until Dee continued. "You're absolutely right. You deserve so much more than me." Remus shook his head. "I don't want anyone else, though. I want you." Dee smiled widely. "I want you too," he responded. Remus looked deeply into Dee's eyes, shocked to find genuine care in them.

"May I kiss you, Remus?" Dee asked softly. Remus' eyes widened in shock, but he nodded nonetheless. Dee smiled softly as he leaned in, causing Remus' breath to catch in his throat. As their lips touched, Remus melted into the kiss. He had never felt anything like this before, and he never wanted it to end. When the pair pulled away, both boy's were blushing with the widest smiles adorning their faces. "Will you be my boyfriend, Re?" Dee asked. Remus laughed lightly in disbelief. "Yes," he responded, his excitement shining through. Dee laughed as he pulled Remus into his arms, hugging him tightly.

Remus knew that he didn't deserve Dee. But he also knew that he wanted him more than anything.
