Avyanna POV
My mom and I leave from Dominic and we get in the car to take me home. I'm so afraid of what my mom is going to say.

Amelia: Avyanna.
Avyanna: Yes?
Amelia: Who was that man you was talking to?
Avyanna: D-Dominic.
Amelia: Uh-huh.

Okay?

Avyanna: Is there a reason why you wanted to know?
Amelia: I just wanted to know his name and why were you talking to him?

I knew there was more to the story.

Avyanna: Mom, there wasn't anyone else who I could talk to at that party.
Amelia: There was plenty of people.
Avyanna: Why would I want to talk to other people who just talk and flaunt about their money? I don't like to talk to people like that.
Amelia: So you rather be with people who are in a lower class than us?
Avyanna: That is not what I'm saying.
Amelia: You are not allowed to associate yourself with people like that.
Avyanna: But—
Amelia: End of discussion.

Wow. My mom really had to go there. Yes she does know about Alyssa.
Alyssa isn't from a very wealthy family. I love how she is as a person. She is so nice and loving. Plus, she's that ride or die best friend. I never looked at how much her family is worth. Her family is so much fun and loving.
My mom drops me off back at the apartment. I feel so tired and so annoyed. Why can't my mom let me do something that I've always wanted to do that makes me happy? I honestly don't feel like I can go through with this wedding.
I take a shower and I put on some comfortable clothes. I go to the kitchen to make myself something to eat. As I making it, Pam walks in.

Pam: Anna? What are you doing?
Avyanna: I'm making myself something to eat.
Pam: Let me do it for you.
Avyanna: No. There's no need.

I finished making it and I sit down on the bar stool and Pam is sitting next to me.

Pam POV
I can tell that something is on Avyanna's mind.

Pam: Whats wrong?
Avyanna: How can you tell that there is something wrong?
Pam: It's easy to tell.

She takes a deep breath.

Avyanna: I just don't like how my mom is controlling everything in my life. She doesn't want me to be around people who are not in the same class level as us. She is already in full control freak mode for this wedding.
Pam: Let me ask you something. What is something you want to keep you happy?

Avyanna POV
That's a great question.

Avyanna: Honestly,.....better appreciation, loved, not having every bit of my life controlled by people.
Pam: Here me out. You are a strong person Anna. I know that you deserve way better than all of this. All of this money and this life is luxury isn't worth the same amount as your happiness. I want you to do this for me. I want you to get a piece of paper for your eyes only. On one side write all the good that you have dealt with all of this. On the other side write the bad that it has done to you. If the good outweigh the bad then you keep living the way you been living. If the bad outweigh the good, you fight for what you feel is right to you and do what you feel is best for you. God knows what best for you.

I felt tears come down my face.

Avyanna: Thank you Pam.
Pam: Come here.

We both hug while I'm crying and she comforts me.

Pam: It's gonna be alright.

We talk some more. And I did tell her about Dominic. She thinks he sounds like a nice guy.
I go the bed and wake up the next morning. It's time to go to work.
I get to work and I see that there are some people outside the office area. I walk up to Alyssa to find out what's up.

Avyanna: Hey, what's going on?
Alyssa: I have no idea, but all I do know is that I think they are from the headquarters or something.

This is odd. We never have them come here or at least I never seen them before.
As I'm walking to my office, my supervisor stops me.

Harold: Avyanna, you are the person that I'm looking for.
Avyanna: Is there something wrong?
Harold: Not at all. Let's go in your office to talk.

So we go in my office and I have no idea what he is gonna say. Before he could say anything, we get a knock on the door.

Harold: Come in.

The door opens and the guy from the bar opening that I saw walks in.

Harold: Noah. Good to see you.
Noah: Good to see you too sir.
Harold: This is Avyanna Emerson. She is our hotel manager.
Avyanna: Hello.

I had to remain professional despite of what happened the last time I saw him.

Harold: So, Avyanna. You are probably wondering what's going on here.
Avyanna: Yes sir because I came in a bit confused.
Harold: Well, you and a few others have been invited to help out with a hotel project in Miami.

My face was priceless. I was in shock.

Avyanna: What?
Noah: Let me explain. We are working on a new management system for one of our resorts and we heard that you guys have the most impressive system. So we want you guys to help train and understand the tactics to the the employees of the hotel.

This is big opportunity.

Avyanna: How long will this last?
Noah: It's gonna last for about 2 weeks.
Avyanna: 2 weeks?!

My heart is beating so fast.

Harold: Is something wrong?
Avyanna: What about my mom—

Although I didn't want to worry about them as much. Even though, I know they wouldn't allow me to go.

Noah: We'll take care of that. No need to worry.
Harold: My advice to you Avyanna that this is an opportunity that is too great to pass up. You are one of my best employees. This is a chance for you to showcase how much of a hard worker you are.

He is right this is too great to pass up and I really need a getaway from life in New York.

Avyanna: Can I think about it at least?
Noah: Absolutely. Here's my number when you have given your final thought.

Noah hands me his business card. They leave my office and I'm so amazed. Like this opportunity is unreal.
