Ch. 17

Avyanna POV
A couple of months have passed. Everything has be going smooth. I started working for the my dad's media company. Everyone was shocked about that my dad is still alive. Who wouldn't? So I made some new changes to the company and fixed everything that Amelia messed up.
As for Dominic and I, we started dating each other now. Before we even got together, him and my dad actually bonded. My dad straight away approved. He has been amazing. He treats me right and everything. I get so excited to see him. We see each other at least two to three times a week. He doesn't really live in New York, but he has an apartment here. He actually has a home in Napa Valley, California.
Fast forward to the present, Dominic and I are on our way to Vermont to meet his parents and grandmother. It was a perfect time because his parents are there for a certain amount of time. During our flight, I have so many thoughts going through my head about meeting his family.

Dominic: Are you okay?
Avyanna: I'm just nervous about meeting your family.
Dominic: Don't be nervous. They will love you. I promise.

Dominic POV
I hold Avyanna's hand and I kiss it.

Dominic: You don't have anything to worry about.
Avyanna: Here's the thing. I'm going over there to meet them. I just wanna know what I'm getting into.

I take a deep breath and let out a laugh.

Dominic: Okay. My family is just like any type of family. My dad is genuine, kind, down to earth, and a real family man. My mom is caring, understanding, down to earth, and has a great heart. My grandma is the most sweetest person ever. You'll definitely love her. She has a kind spirit and down to earth too. And she makes the best cookies.
Avyanna: They definitely sound interesting. But will I meet their approval.
Dominic: Absolutely.

I smile at her and we do a quick kiss. A few minutes later, she falls asleep.
I pull out of my pocket and box with an engagement ring. You are thinking that this is too soon. I knew since day one and I want her in my life forever.

**Flashback** (still Dominic's POV)
I'm flying back to Miami to ask Michael for permission to marry Avyanna. Avyanna thinks that I'm at work. She has no idea.
I land and I go to his house.

Michael: Hey, Dom. How you doing?
Dominic: Great sir. What about you?
Michael: Fantastic. How are things with you and Avyanna?
Dominic: Fantastic. Actually I'm here to talk to you, your wife, and Amara about that.
Michael: Oh. We are all in the living room.

We go to the living room. I greet Diana and Amara

Diana: So what brings you by?
Dominic: So you guys know that Avyanna and I have been dating each other for the past few months.
Amara: Yeah. You guys are so cute together.
Diana: I agree.
Dominic: I have a lot of respect you guys and I feel a connection with everyone. I love Avyanna so much. She is an amazing person. There has never been a dull moment. I was wondering if it was okay if I ask Avyanna to marry me.

Everyone was shocked.

Michael: Are you sure?
Dominic: Absolutely. I love her. I want to spend the rest of my life with her.

Michael POV
I've missed so much of Avyanna's life. Her getting married would really make up for all I missed in her life. Plus, Dominic is a good man. I can tell how much they love each other. After trying to process it for a minute.....

Michael: Dominic......you have my permission.
Dominic: Really?
Michael: Yes sir. You have made my daughter so happy and you have my permission.
Diana: Mine too.
Amara: And me.
Dominic: Thanks guys.
