Ch. 14

Avyanna POV
Alyssa came into town. I'm so happy to see her. She was honestly worried sick about me. Plus, she and Noah are finally a couple.
A couple days have passed and we haven't heard anything about Liam and my mom. Dominic told me to not come in today for the project because he wants me to be safe.
I go to the kitchen to find something to eat. Plus, I think I'm home alone. Everyone is out. Or so I thought. Michael was already in the kitchen.

Avyanna: Oh Mr. Michael.
Michael: Oh hi. How are you?
Avyanna: I'm doing pretty good. What about you?
Michael: I'm doing good myself.

I make myself some coffee for the coffee machine.

Michael POV
Something is telling me to just tell her. I can't hold back on this.

Michael: Avyanna, can I talk to you?
Avyanna: Sure.

We go over to the table and sit down.

Avyanna: What's up?
Michael: I overheard you and Dominic talking about your mom and fiancé. I'm so sorry for what you had to deal with.
Avyanna: It's been a struggle.
Michael: You said your dad passed away?
Avyanna: Yes. I was about 10 years old.
Michael: Do you know how he died?
Avyanna: I don't know. I sometimes thought my mom killed him.

I take a sip of my coffee and put it down.

Michael: I want to tell you a story. There was this woman I met years ago. She was so beautiful and everything. We got together and we got married. A couple years into our marriage, we got pregnant with a baby girl. When our daughter arrived, my wife passed away due to child birth. The doctors almost thought that my daughter wouldn't make it, but she had that same strength and spirit of her mother that she made it.
Avyanna: Awww.
Michael: I ended up raising my daughter myself. Well, until I met another woman. My daughter was about 1 or 2 years old at that time. Of course, we feel in love and my daughter thought that she was her real mother. Plus, I was also starting up my own business.

Avyanna POV
This sounds like what happened to me when I was little.

Michael: After a few years of my business doing well, my wife became addicted to fame. She would want to do any and everything to get attention. I couldn't take it and I wanted to file for divorce. When she found out about that and me wanting to change my will, she was furious. One night when I was on my way home from work, I was in a car accident. I was sent to the hospital and I was grateful that I survived. But I had a feeling my wife had it planned to have me killed. So I told the doctors to tell her that I passed away. I was able to leave and start new somewhere else. I hated that I had to leave my beautiful and amazing daughter behind. I thought about her every single day and hoped for one day I can see her again.

My eyes began to water. I can tell that this has to be my dad.

Avyanna: Have you gotten a chance to see her?

I see his eyes water too. My heart is beating so fast.

Michael: I think I have.

We could both tell by our expressions that we know.
I get up and just hug him in tears and he cries too.

Michael: Oh my sweet Anna. I've missed you so much.
Avyanna: Oh dad. I've missed you more.

We hugged for like forever. I can't believe that after all this time my dad was alive. Him calling me Anna brings back memories.

Michael: Look at how beautiful you have turned into. You look just like your mother. I'm so sorry for everything.
Avyanna: It's okay. The only thing that matters to me is that you are alive.

We hug again. My heart is so whole right now.

Michael: I have say this. I'm so proud of what you are becoming. When I first heard that you was coming here for this project. I didn't want to believe it. Until I saw you.
Avyanna: When I first saw you I got a strong connection from you and something told me that my father is alive. How are we going to tell everyone?
Michael: We will tell them tonight. And we need to look at this about Amelia and Liam. This is what they are doing is so wrong.
Avyanna: I know. I really want to get out of it.
Michael: And you will. I will make sure of that.

Mich—I mean dad and I began to ketchup on everything in our lives. I'm so glad I have my dad back in my life.
Dad asked his chief to make a special dinner for tonight so that we can announce it to everyone.
A few hours pass and it's time for dinner. We are all sitting down in the dining room eating. I next to Dominic, Alyssa is sitting next to Noah, Amara is sitting next to Diana, and dad is at the head of the table. Midway through dinner, dad gets up.

Michael: You guys are probably wondering why we are having a special dinner tonight. Well, that's because today I found out some amazing news that makes me so happy and joyful. A few years ago I had to make a decision to leave behind someone who was dear to me. It was so hard to do and every day I would wonder if I would ever get to ever see that person again. I'm glad to say that I was able to reunite with my daughter, Avyanna.

Everyone is so happy and in awe.

Amara: Avyanna, is my sister?
Avyanna: I sure am.
Amara: Yay!!!!!!!! I have a sister!!!

Amara gets up and comes and hugs me. I hug her back.

Amara: I remember dad would tell me and mom about his daughter he had to leave and how amazing she was. I can't believe it you.
Avyanna: Haha. It's me.
Alyssa: This is the best news by far.
Dominic: I agree. What exactly happened to you to make you leave?
Michael: Amelia was being so into getting attention for publicity that I confronted her about it and she was furious. I think she plotted to have me killed in a car accident in order to have my media company and not give it to Anna.
Diana: She did that?
Michael: Yep. So I paid the doctors to lie and say I died, but I actually survived the accident. I have a pretty good feeling she's here in Miami.

I began to think of an idea to get back at her and Liam.

Avyanna: There is a way and I think I have an idea.

I tell everyone what my idea is.

Dominic: Woah. Anna that's a big risk.
Avyanna: I'm willing to take it.
Michael: Are you sure? Because I don't want to loose you.
Avyanna: I'm sure. I remember you telling me when I was little that my name means strong and beautiful. I'm going to use my strength for this.

Dad looks at me and I can tell by his face he is proud of me.

Michael: That's my girl.
Noah: When will this all happen?
Avyanna: Soon as they find me.

I know what I'm doing is a big risk, but I have to stand my ground and get out of this situation to get my life back.
