Ch. 15

Avyanna POV
The next day, I go to the hotel to work. I'm a bit nervous, but I'm determined to win. As I'm working, Alexis comes up to me.

Alexis: Hey girl, I haven't seen you in forever.
Avyanna: I know. Something happened.
Alexis: Is everything okay?
Avyanna: Yeah. It's all good.
Alexis: Awesome. Also, can you help me with planning this event that is happening soon.
Avyanna: Sure.

I follow Alexis to her office to her office and we began to plan.

Avyanna: Okay, so I want to look at the ball room so I can get an idea on how to map everything out.
Alexis: Okay.

We go to the ball room and it's huge.

Avyanna: Wow this is gorgeous.
Alexis: I know right. Believe it or not before I worked here this is where I had my wedding reception at.
Avyanna: No way.
Alexis: Yeah. It was so amazing.

So Alexis and I began to map out for everything for this event which is a formal company event.
A few minutes later we got it mapped out.

Avyanna: So the next thing is to contact vendors. Do you guys have a file of past vendors you contacted?
Alexis: I'm sure there is. Let's go ask someone.

So we go to ask someone which was on the other side of the hotel. We got the information that we needed.
As we are going back to Alexis office, I get stopped by the receptionist.

Receptionist: Hey Avyanna, someone left this note for you.
Avyanna: Thanks.

I open the note and it says:
Meet me at the bar hotel here soon as you get off. See you soon.

I already knew who it was from.
I sent everyone a quick text letting them know.
I definitely not feeling scared at all now. Just nervous.

Alexis: Is everything okay?
Avyanna: Yep. Just taking care of some business.

So Alexis and I began to plan for the event. Which is like next month. Alexis was freaking out the whole time. As for me, it was normal. One time I planned an event that was in three days. Alexis was so surprised how I was able to handle it. It took us almost all day to contact the vendors because for this event they wanted so many things.

Alexis: Woah. I'm so exhausted. I've never seen anyone do anything like that so fast. How do you do it?
Avyanna: It takes patience and determination. I make sure I get it done and done right. Plus, you have to be logical with the vendors too.

We look at the time and it's was time to get off. We leave and I go over to the bar to meet up with you know who.
I go to the bar and I go over to the waiter.

Avyanna: Hi, do you know the person who wrote this note?

I hand it to the waiter and he looks at it.

Waiter: Yes, follow me.

I follow the waiter to almost the back of the bar.
The waiter goes back to his post and I'm sit down at the bar waiting.
A few minutes later, I hear a couple of voices. I turn around. I'm now shocked.

Liam: Thought you could get away?
Avyanna: Why should it matter?
Amelia: You should know better Avyanna.
Avyanna: You two don't control my life.
Liam: Is that back talk?!
Avyanna: Don't you dare. Honestly, I'm glad I left.
Amelia: Enough!! You are coming back to New York and you are marrying Liam.

I get up and face them both.

Avyanna: No I'm not. You can't even make me.
Liam: Yes we can!!
Avyanna: Try telling that to my father!!!

They are both silent and confused.

Amelia: Your father is not alive!! He died in an accident!!!
Michael: Nice try Amelia.

They both get scared when my dad walks beside me.

Liam: What the hell?!
Michael: You thought that you had me Amelia.
Amelia: What?!
Michael: Right when I left New York, I had to do some digging to find out about the accident. Turns out you paid someone to have me killed just for the publicity and to take the company I started away from me. And now I found out that all I worked for is going broke. You decide to use my daughter to marry man who isn't even close to at being the wealthiest man in New York.
Liam: How is that even true?! Plus I am the richest man in all of New York!!
Avyanna: It was easy. Plus, you can take this stupid ring.

I take the ring from my pocket and throw it at Liam. He gets mad.

Liam: You little bitch!!!

Liam hits me and I fall back. He comes closer to hit me again until Dominic comes in front of me.

Dominic: I dare you to hit her again!!!
Liam: Or what?!

Then Noah and Alyssa walks in.

Alyssa: Or we will take every piece of footage taken of what you just did and release about that everything about the engagement was a fake and about you having an affair.
Liam: How did you find that?!
Alyssa: I have my ways.
Amelia: You don't have that ability like I do. You are powerless.
Avyanna: Don't talk to her that way.
Amelia: Shut up Avyanna!! And don't you dare talk to your me that way.
Avyanna: You aren't even my real mother!!!
Amelia: I am your mother!!

She slaps me across the face. I felt anger go through my body. I back hand slap Amelia.

Amelia: Did you just hit me?
Avyanna: Yes!! I'm sick of how you ran my life!! All you ever cared about was yourself!!! I'm done with you!!! I'm moving out of the apartment.
Liam: Hahaha!! Where are you going to live at?
Alyssa: With me. For the past year, I couldn't deal with how you treat Anna.
Michael: I'm prepared to offer you two a deal. You two leave here, never come near Anna, my family, or anyone else here, call off this engagement, and hand over the media company to Anna and we won't release this footage of what just happened here to the public.

Liam and Amelia look at us still upset. We finally have them trapped. They no choice here. They are their own reputation to protect for public reasons.

Liam: Fine.
Amelia: What?
Liam: I don't want my dad's company to have a bad reputation because of my own actions.
Amelia: Do you not know how much work I've put into this?
Liam: Just to bring in more money for the media company. I'm out.

Liam walks away.

Amelia: Liam!! Ugh!! This isn't over!!

She follows behind him calling for him.

Noah: That was intense.
Avyanna: It was. I'm so glad that I stood up for myself.
Michael: I'm so proud of you Anna.
Avyanna: Thanks Dad.
Dominic: We are too.

I look at Dominic and just smile at him.

Avyanna: Whenever we go back to New York I want to get my things and move in with Alyssa.

Then I remembered something else too.

Avyanna: Since I'm now owner of the biggest media company in New York, I know exactly what I'm going to do first.

So after all of that, the next morning Alyssa and I go back to New York. I told my dad that I'll be coming back for the company party.
Soon as Alyssa and I got off the plane we went straight to her apartment. Alyssa had a spare room just for me. I needed a couple of days to prepare myself for this next step I'm taking.
