-----Sinbad had finally caught up to Barbarossa and brutally destroyed the carriage he was travelling in. He landed, looking at the pile of debris left behind but there was no body. Though, once he and Serendine had confirmed he was dead, the war would be over. He couldn't have been more relieved, the whole time his mind was drowning in worry for the wellbeing of his friends, his country and of course, Lucy. Serendine watched him, she let out a sigh.
"The faster we find Barbarossa the faster we can get back." She said as she began to search through the scraps of wood and metal left behind from their surprise attack on the carriage that Barbarossa was supposedly in.
"Seriously! You worry too much!" Judar groaned as he stood by doing nothing to help the two dungeon conquerors.
"Lucy and those other aren't totally weak, they'll be fine." Judar said as he put his arms behind his head. Sinbad wasn't in the mood to deal with the bratty magi. He just wanted to return to see that everyone was safe for himself. He knew that if it was for Sindria's sake, for the sake of their friends, Lucy would put herself in danger time after time. She wouldn't stop until everyone and everything was safe. So, he wanted to hurry and make sure she wouldn't get herself killed.
"You know, I was always a little jealous about how you and Lucy were so close. I loved her like she was my sister but... she always chose you, no matter what." She sighed, recalling how much time she and Lucy spent with each other when they were at the company.
"I thought I knew that she saw in you. You're ambitious, confident and you always know what to say... but when I asked, she didn't say those things. She said that you're funny, irresponsible and a bit selfish at times. Though you meant well. She told me you were a person that was a bit lonely sometimes and you are the biggest she had ever met. Though despite all of that, she wanted to be the one always by your side." Serendine laughed, shaking her head.
"Why are you telling me this now?" Sinbad asked. It was definitely strange that she would be bringing this up, especially Lucy's relationship with him.
"Because... I realized that she was in love with you. And no matter what I did or how I did it, there was no ending where she and I would remain friends. And that is because I'd have to go against you. So, I decided to move forward with my own reasons, even though she hated for it." Serendine explained before she turned to him. A serious expression washed over her face.
"I felt like I truly had a family when I was with her. She talked to me when I needed it, she depended on me when she needed me, I truly felt like she was my sister. I had planned to watch over her because I didn't trust you before. But, after turning to the organization for help, I had to cast away all my emotions for you all. I am no longer capable of feeling such emotions anymore. Just... keep watch over her in my place. Take care of her." Serendine said, still stoic. Sinbad scrunched his brows together but nodded nonetheless.
"I will." He replied. She nodded her head towards him in gratitude. But a question popped into his mind.
"If you cared so much about her, why would you willingly go destroy everything between you and her? Together, we could have come up with a better solution." Sinbad asked.
"When you decided to trust Barbarossa, I couldn't sit around and wait anymore. To me, Parthevia will always come first. It always will." Serendine ended the conversation after that. In a small way, the purple headed man understood.
"Hey!" Judar yelled from a few steps away from the duo.
"If you guys are done, I think I found the body!" The young magi said as he looked down at a burnt corpse at his feet. The duo ran quickly over to the child. Sinbad tried to convince himself that the war would be over soon and that all of his friends were fine. She... had to be fine.
