My parents were trying to help, but my dad was crying too hard or was too grossed, or both, so he had to leave the room. Mom was with me the whole time. She held my hand and gave me advice and words of encouragement. To be honest, I just wanted it to be over. Finally, Ethan was placed gently in my arms. This time, I cried happy tears.

So familiar. I smiled even wider. "We have to get him cleaned up. You can rest. Congratulations," the nurse said and smiled. She carried a crying baby and I fell asleep.
