The next two weeks went by slowly for Greer. She had been off bedrest for a week. She went to the doctor, this time with Hudson by her side, to get another update on Presley. Just as the doctor at the hospital had told her, the baby was doing great.

Greer was living up her last day at home before she had to go back to school. Hudson had promised that he would help her transition back into school. He was not going to let things go back to the way they were before. Greer had bookmarked a couple of websites to show Hudson on baby materials. She had found a couple of possible themes for the nursery. She loved the florals that were currently out. She just hoped that Hudson liked the themes that she liked as well.

Hudson was sitting at lunch with his friends and Clara's. He said, "Okay. Here is the deal. Greer comes back to school tomorrow. Things are not easy for her and I want to make sure that you all understand me. Do not mess with her. She has had it hard enough. This is the mother of my daughter. If you all are my friends, you will treat her right. If I find out any differently you are all going down."

Hudson's best friend, Jonas, told him, "We never really had a problem with Greer. She always seemed like a nice girl. We just thought there had to be something we didn't know if you and Clara didn't like her. It's that unspoken friendship bond that if your best friend doesn't like a person then you don't either."

"It's a long story and I really want to forget it. I want to put it all behind us and focus on the future. My daughter is going to know nothing but love, if I can help it, in her early life."

Clara said, "I know that that speech was for me. You don't have anything to worry about on my end. I have a lot of winning over to do. Girls, Greer is a no go territory. She has enough stress without us making it any worse. I want my little niece to come out perfect when she gets here. Stress will keep that from happening."

Clara's best friend, Khloe, said, "I don't understand why the total flip. Just because she is having a baby is stopping six years of despising her. I just don't get it."

"I was a jerk. I treated her terribly and she never really deserved it. If I had not been such a jerk we would all be friends with her right now. Greer is wonderful and I stopped myself from seeing that. Now she is the home to my perfect niece. I have a lot of groveling to do to make up for the torture that I put her through."

"What started all of this anyway? There had to be a reason for why she hasn't been our friend."

"I was jealous of her, okay? She was the shy, loveable girl that everyone wanted to be friends with. My brother liked her an d I was afraid of losing him and her, but I was more afraid of losing him."

Jonas asked, "You liked the girl?"

Hudson told him, "Yes. She would not be having my baby if I didn't feel something for her. I don't know what the future holds, but I just have to make sure that Presley has everything that she needs. I don't know if anything will ever transpire with Greer and I, but I plan to do everything that I can to help her."

"You are going to be a dad. That still blows my mind. I get to be cool Uncle Joe though, right?"

"I would be disappointed if you weren't. I'm going to need all the backup I can get. I'm going to suck as a dad."

"No you aren't. Your baby is going to be lucky to have you. That girl isn't going to know what to do with an awesome dad like you. I can't wait to see you playing dress up and dolls."

"Hey! Don't judge. If my girl wants to play dress up and dolls, then we will play dress up and dolls."

"That right there is what is going to make you a good dad. A kid needs a dad that will put things aside and do what they can to make them happy. You may be young, but I think that is what is going to help you be an even better dad."

Khloe rolled her eyes and said, "Enough baby talk. We are in high school. We need to be living it up."

Hudson told her, "You are going to have to get used to it coming from me. I'm having a baby. That isn't something that I am going to hide anymore."

Hudson sighed. He knew he was going to be odd man out of the group, but he really wasn't going to care. Right now he just wanted to do what he could for his baby and her mom.

Hudson walked in to the house to see Greer on the couch. He asked, "How are you feeling?"

She told him, "I'm fine. Just like the ten times that you text me to ask today. I'm just nervous to go back to school tomorrow."

"It will be fine. I told everyone to leave you alone or else they would have to deal with me."

"You don't have to change anything for me."

"Yes I do. I hate myself for the way that I treated you in the past. I'm not going to let my friends treat you like that any longer. Clara told them off too."

"You guys really don't have to do that for me. I'm a big girl. I can take care of myself."

"I know, but I want you to realize that you don't have to anymore. I want to be there for you and Presley. I care about you and Presley more than you know. I want to be someone that our daughter can depend on. Someone that you can depend on. I know I still have a ways to go to prove myself to you, but I will, if it is the last thing I do."

"Thank you. Come here. You have to feel this. She is getting stronger every day. I think she missed you talking to her today."

Hudson blushed. "You know about that?"

"Yeah. I've caught you a couple of times when you thought I was napping."

"And you didn't say anything?"

"I didn't want to take away from your time with her, but I couldn't help myself. It is seriously the cutest thing. She's going to love having you for a dad."

"Thanks, G." Hudson continued to sit with his hand on her stomach and talk about their baby.
