Hudson woke up with Greer in his arms. He loved it. It had been two weeks since they had made it official. Nothing was different than before other than stealing kisses any chance they got and falling asleep in each other's rooms depending on where Presley was sleeping. They hadn't come out and told his family that they were together, but they were noticing some differences in their behaviors. As well as sleeping arrangements.
Hudson kissed Greer's head and got out of bed. He walked over to Presley's bassinet. He smiled as she was looking up at him. He said, "Hey pretty girl. I'm glad to see you are happy this morning. Daddy loves you, sweet girl. Let's sit here in our chair and rock a little bit. Mommy needs some extra sleep since you have been extra needy lately. We have to get you sleeping pretty girl so that mommy and daddy can get some sleep. We have three weeks until mommy and daddy have to start going to school. We are going to miss you so much."
Greer rolled over in bed and smiled at the pair. She yawned and said, "I love waking up to my two favorite people."
Hudson said, "Look Essie! Mommy is awake to spend time with us."
"Bring me my girl. It's time to fill her belly. Then daddy is on diaper duty and changing her clothes for today."
"Sounds like a deal to me."
Hudson brought Presley over to the bed and put her in Greer's arms. He sat next to Greer as she fed her. He kissed her head and said, "I'm really going to miss our happy little family bubble."
"Where do you plan on going?"
"Not like that, goof. I mean when we have classes. I got the job at the bookstore and you got the job at the daycare. We aren't going to have as much time together."
"We'll make it work. I think it's time to tell your parents and Clara that we are dating."
"But..."
"Do you not want to tell them? I know I'm not your first choice."
He pulled her into him arms and told her, "It's not it. I'm afraid they will talk you out of being with me. I'm a screw up. I want nothing more than to stay in our happy bubble."
"Babe, you know that I've loved you for the biggest part of my life, if not all of it. We have the most perfect baby together. There is no way that anyone is going to be able to talk me out of loving you. I love you. I love Presley and I couldn't be happier to have our little family together. We are going to make this work."
Hudson got up and said, "I love you too, babe. Now let me have our girl so I can get her changed. Are we going to try to put her in the nursery tonight to sleep? It's been six weeks."
Greer sighed. "I guess it is time to try."
"She's going to be fine. We aren't far."
"Can I still sleep with you? I don't know that I can go back to sleeping alone again."
"I wouldn't have it any other way. I need to have my girl in my arms to sleep well."
"I'm glad we are on the same page. Now get our girl changed. I'm sure Nana and Auntie Clara are waiting to see her."
"I guess it is time to share her."
Greer and Hudson walked down the stairs. Grace was quick to take Presley. She said, "There is my pretty little Essie. I was wondering if mommy and daddy were going to share you with me today. I love my pretty little princess."
Greer sat down on the couch. Hudson sat close to her and threw his arm around her shoulders. He said, "Mom, Greer and I wanted to tell you that we are dating."
Grace and Clara laughed. Grace said, "I was beginning to wonder when you were going to tell us."
"You knew?"
"Honey, I'm not an idiot. The two of you sleep in the same bed curled up together every night. Plus, don't think we haven't seen you stealing kisses."
Greer blushed and told her, "I'm sorry. I was nervous. I didn't know how to tell you. You are letting me stay here and I didn't want to overstep any boundaries by being in a relationship with Hudson."
"Why? We love you like you are one of our own. I couldn't be happier. Just please don't give me anymore cute grandbabies any time soon. That is something I don't think I could handle."
"Absolutely not. There are no more babies coming from me any time soon. This one is more than enough for me. She was the best surprise, but we don't need any more surprises right now."
"Thank goodness. Now, I want the two of you to go out and have some fun today. I've got this one under control."
Hudson told her, "Mom, it's fine."
"No. You are going to go out. Go to a movie. Do something else. I don't care. I just want you to have some time as teenagers before college starts next month."
"What do you think, G?"
Greer told him, "It would be nice to get out and do something. We won't be gone long. Your mom and Clara have been begging to watch Presley for us."
"Then it's a date day we will have. Let us know if she needs anything."
Clara told them, "She is going to be fine. I'll let you know if she needs anything, but you know that she is going to be spoiled rotten with both me and mom here. I've been waiting to spoil her, but the two of you hardly let her go. I need some Auntie Clara and Presley time."
Grace laughed and said, "Daddy, we will be fine. I've raised two kids. Let me love on my granddaughter for a few hours."
"Okay. Fine. I want text messages." Clara and Grace laughed and rolled their eyes. Greer and Hudson went to get ready. It was going to be nice to have a few hours to be kids and spend some solo time together.
