Nighteye didn't want them to say anything. Not until he got a plan together at least. Mirio understood why. If people believed Miku was with a yakuza group it would only scare Chisaki off. Making it harder to find them. Still Mirio could help but think of what Miku could be going through if she was with them. She certainly didn't deserve it.
The hero had talked to him on more than one occasion, pushing him to work on his quirk or helping him improve on hand to hand combat. But that wasn't what he remembered most about Miku.
——
It was halfway through his 2nd year. She had taken over class for their teacher when the bell rung signaling the end of the day.Everyone got up ready to leave when Miku's voice rung throughout the room. "Mirio will you stay a minute? I'd like to ask you a few things."
Mirio stopped talking to Tamaki and looked up to the front of the class "Sure thing Miku!" The smile never leafy his face.
Once everyone had left and Miku and Mirio were the only ones in the class Miku started to talk. "You have really improved, if you keep working like that you could be at the top of your year." Mirio blushed at the praise.
"Thanks Miku, I have been training hard with Amajiki." Miku gave a smile.
"Now forgive me if I'm over stepping boundaries, but I have reason to believe you like Tamaki." Miku watch as Mirio got red in the face. Scratching the back of his neck he let out a small nervous laugh.
"Of course I like Amajiki, he's my best friend." Miku gave him the are you serious look, which only made him redder.
"You know there is no shame in likening someone, no matter who it is." Mirio was practically on fire now. A small nervous smile on his face as Miku just smirked. She cornered him.
"I-I know that." Miku couldn't help but laugh she was uncovering this boys feeling, and it was making him a nervous mess.
"Good, because I don't think you know how many times you spaced out in class while staring at him today." Mirio was dead. Miku took some pride in turning the extrovert into a complete mess, after just talking about his crush for a few minutes.
"I just wanted you to know, there is no crime in loving who you love." With that Miku started to walk out the door leaving a flustered teen in her wake.
Mirio stood there for awhile longer just thinking. Does he like His best friend?
No, of course not, Amajiki was his best bud. He couldn't like him.
Right?
——
Wrong. That short conversation stayed on his mind for the next few days. He didn't realize how much he looked at Amajiki until now. Throughout the class Mirio would find himself staring at his friend just like Miku had said. Mirio noticed how his own cheeks got slightly pink, and how his smile would lighten at the sight of his best friend.
It made him realize he had a crush on Tamaki. What he was supposed to do with that information he was unsure.
Up until this day Mirio hadn't acted on his crush, choosing to ignore it. Unsure of what to do.
——Miku was concerned. She hadn't heard Eri. Only yelling from somewhere outside her room. Miku hoped Eri escaped, that she somehow managed to get out, but she had a feeling Eri would be back. Miku's quirk was weak. She could barely feel it. She never realized how empty she would feel without that little voice in the back of her he'd telling her when something bad would happen.
Miku was lost, scared, and tired. She wanted to cry so badly but wouldn't. She could cry later. Right now she had to worry about Eri. It was questionable if Eri had ever felt loved, and Miku just wanted to show her what it felt like. Now Eri was gone. In danger? Dead? Escaped? She didn't know.
Her only hope was the yelling from before. She couldn't hear it but it didn't sound good. Something bad happened, which was probably good for Miku.
Miku didn't know much, but she did know Eri was the center of Overhaul's plan. Miku only being a small plus in the overall plan, a tool to make everything go faster. The point, Eri gone= bad, really bad for their plan.
She hoped Eri managed to escape making it nearly impossible to finish whatever awful plan they were trying to complete.
They took Miku's blood. She hurt all over, bandages covered her, and it was hard to move. They wanted her blood for whatever reason, just like they wanted Eri's.
Suddenly Miku heard shuffling through the wall coming from the room that usually had Eri.
Miku was silent listening until she heard the door shut and sniffling coming from the room. "Eri?" Miku could hear Eri scoot closer to the wall that separated the two. "Eri sweetie what's wrong?" Miku's voice was soft as she heard Eri sniffle.
"I'm sorry Miku, I tried to leave, but I couldn't." She was crying harder. Small sobs filled the air. "Eri, it's ok, nothing is your fault." Miku wasn't going to ask Eri about anything. The girl needed some comfort. "We will be fine, someone will help."
Eri fell silent only the occasional sniffle could be heard. "I met a hero." Her voice was small almost a whisper. "He called himself Deku"
Miku stopped. She'd heard that name, but she could think who it was. Deku, Deku. Deku! Midoriya! "You met Midoriya," It was so quite Eri didn't hear her, but a smile spread across Miku's face.
"He was so kind. He tried to help me." Eri seemed like she was thinking back, reliving the short time she with Izuku.
"That's amazing Eri!" For the first time in a while Miku felt something similar to happiness. Maybe, just Maybe, they could get out of this.
Without realizing a small ounce of hope blossomed in Miku's chest. She may be able to see her husband again.
