After her father's death Miku had forgotten about her possibility of gaining a quirk. She made no moves to try and figure out what it truly was, only paying attention to the small voice that would tell her the right way to go.
That was until nearly the end of her first grade year. Mother's Day was coming up and they were planting flowers to give to their mothers. Miku's plant was flourishing, growing much faster, and bigger then all of her classmates.
One day she was entering her plant when she got the strong desire to touch it. Reaching out her hand she tapped on of the petals. She felt the plants time left. 3 weeks it would live, but she wanted it to live longer. It had to last forever, so her mom could always depend on it. Slowly she closed her eyes and focused on the plants time, but when she opened her eyes the plant was nothing but a wilted mess.
Miku looked at her hands confused she thought she could help the plant, but it only wilted. The teacher's attention turned to Miku surprise filling her face when she saw her beautiful flower was now brown and dead.
"Miku?! What happened?" She rushed over to see the small girl with tears in her eyes as she stared at her, now dead, flower.
"I-I don't know. I just touched it, and it died!" Miku spun around in her chair staring at the teacher for help.
"It's alright," she looked around the room before her eyes landed on a large green plant that she always kept in her room. Rushing over the grab it she set it on Miku's desk. "Can you touch this plant?"
By now all the kids attention had turned to Miku. The assistant teacher kept them back as Miku reached out and touched the plant.
"It has 3 years left, you must take very good care of it." After she said this the plant withered away into nothing. "Oh! I'm so sorry!"
Even as the teacher watched her plant die she showed no ill will towards the child. "It's alright, I wouldn't want to deal with that old plant for 3 years anyway. Now can you stand up? We need to take you to the guidance counselor."
Miku stood up slowly walking out of the room with the teacher behind her. "Is this my quirk? Am I Trouble?"
"No! Of course not! We just have to make sure your quirk doesn't hurt anyone!" Miku nodded her head in understanding.
"Ok" soon they made it to the guidance counselor and Miku was left in her care.
"So Miku! Finally got your quirk?" Miku was 7 so she was definitely a little behind but most doctors said it was due to The death of her father, and said to give it a year or two.
"I guess, but I think I got it a while ago." The guidance counselor seemed surprised. Sitting up straighter in her seat.
"Really? Could you tell be about it?" She stood up from her seat to grab her laptop.
"Well, ever since my father died I have had these feelings, telling me what to do, and what not to do." The adult was writing it all down.
"Why didn't you tell anyone?" She sounded genuinely curious, but all Miku did was shrug her shoulders. No one had ever asked her so she didn't talk about it.
"Ok, well can you tell me what was going through your mind, when the plant died?" Miku was fiddling with a piece of her long red hair. She found it quite annoying, but her mother loved the hair, saying it was just like her father's, so she never cut it.
"I could see the time it had left, but then when I focused on it, it was like the life was draining and going into me." Miku wouldn't lie she felt the energy flowing through her. It made her excited and slightly bouncy.
"I see, well, I'm going to enter you into one of our quirk programs. It will help you learn to control it. I've already called your mom and she will be here to pick you up soon. Don't worry, everyone goes through this."
The guidance counselor stood up and went to walk around her seat to Miku, when she bumped to corner. The desk shook a little and a red glass cup full of pens began to fall off the table.
Miku reacted to it by reaching her hand out and freezing the cup in place just a few inches from the floor. "Oh! Well Miku look at that! It stopped."
Miku was so surprised that she lost her concentration and the cup fell to the floor shattering. "I'm sorry!" Miku instantly dropped to the floor to help clean up the mess.
"No Miku you are fine! Your quirk is very interesting, I have a feeling it will grow to be very strong, don't be afraid of it." She went to clean up the mess of glass and pans. Making sure Miku stayed away from it so she didn't get cut.
Miku was feeling conflicted. She finally figured out a bit more about her quirk, but she still had no idea how to control it.
Plus she killed her Mother's Day gift. What was she supposed to give her mom now?
