—Recap—
The trio had finally arrived at the spirit tree. Aris was finally back home. Although, it was an interesting start for him. As shenanigans appeared left and right. First it was Esti tackling Ori and then Alora later brining in another two. One in particular being as rude as they come. Most likely a matter of self pride. So learning of the forest's supposed hero, first had him curios to then disappoint. Disrespecting Ori for appearing like an inferiority to himself. This eventually upsetting Ori into a fit of rage. As not a single ill word towards his family will go unpunished. The sudden battle had just begun. Everyone around had gathered almost instantly. Forming a circle around them both. The air still crackled like thunder, as Ori's sudden burst of speed echoed far into the woods. Disturbing the peace in the forest.
"Well... this is surely unexpected. I doubted a shrimp like you could have so much strength. Clearly, I was wrong about you. But I won't apologize... since this battle has got me all fired up!"
"I'll smother that 'fire' within you down to nothing. I will bring you to your knees. You'll beg for mercy as I destroy you with my own power whilst I cripple your pride in the process."
Ori daunted in response. He stood in a defensive pose, lighting his hands ablaze with the spirit flame. The crowd mumbled to the sight for a moment. Ori wished to dash straight in to attack but, he knew nothing on what Aciros was capable of. Diving in head first would be a risky play.
For now, he'll analyze Aciros to the best of his ability. To find a weakness and exploit it.Now it was only silence. A staring contest in await for the other to make a move. Neither knew the other's plan nor their abilities. Only the upcoming prolonged fight will tell.
The crowd around them was also silent, at least, almost was. Many were confused. Questioning what was going on. Some wanted a fight, demanding for some entertainment. Whilst others bet on a winner. Fruit being the wager.
"What are they doing? - Why isn't anything happening? - Is this a staring contest?"
Whispers in the crowd grew louder and so did the distraction. Ori was uncomfortable, on edge. This is his first ever fight between one of his own. Someone who's far more unpredictable compared to a mere creature in the woods.
This made him marginally regret his sudden involuntary attack. He was still angry at Aciros, without a doubt. Although all Aciros did was say a few things. They were just words.
Although it frightens him over how Aciros even knew of his family. It's not like he knows where they live, nor would he go on his way to harm them. It was provocative and Ori was lured in. Just like Aciros wanted from the start.
'Could he tell I was stronger than a normal spirit?'
Ori thought to himself, although, he wasn't entirely sure. He would diffuse the situation, but it's far too late for that. Especially with everyone around.
With little of a choice, he'll have to play along. If it's a fight Aciros wants, it is a fight he will get.
Although, Ori already made on vital mistake.
His thoughts have trailed off, adverting his concentration away from the fight. His gaze looking down to the ground.Because one of the most important things in battle is...
Never lose focus on your opponent.
Upon looking back up, Aciros was about a few inches away. A wide smirk is all what Ori could see.
"Admiring the grass, twerp?" He laughed.
Aciros turning his body wide, swinging his entire right arm to Ori's face. Landing a clean blow.
