—Recap—
Aris traveled to the mysterious forest of Niwen by sea, in search for Ori and Ku. Fortunately Ori was found, but was severely injured. After battling with a larger than life wolf, Aris saved Ori from a gruesome demise. To only be paralyzed by a tree that seemed to be harmless.Aris POV
"Aris... Aris I need you to wake up..." a voice kept repeating in my consciousness. My senses slowly returned to me, as I began to feel a gentle breeze blowing onto my fur.
'What is this?' Is all I could think.
After a minute I could finally open my eyes to be greeted by the gleaming sunlight, causing me to squint in surprise. I could've sworn it was a storm just seconds ago.I slowly stood up as my entire body stung with pain, which made me remember fragments on what happened prior. "Huh... guess I was out for the rest of the storm." I sighed. Looking around the vicinity there were branches and leaves littered everywhere, the storm sure did tear things apart.
"Aris?" Vaeth spoke out suddenly.
"Vaeth? What happened?" I asked rubbing my head in pain. I could hear a gentle sigh before he spoke again.
"Hours ago you touched this very tree, which caused it to strike you with all its light. Your body couldn't handle this flow of energy so you fell onto the ground unconscious. I thought you were dying on me." Vaeth explained.
"Ah, I see... well that explains why my memory is hazy. Also I'm sorry for worrying you." I apologized.
"Don't worry, at least you're ok. So how is Ori?" Vaeth questioned. Looking over, Ori was still on the ground unconscious. The wounds that were once on his body were now gone completely, only leaving scars in their place.
"Luckily he looks fine, though I'm surprised he still isn't conscious." I replied telepathically whilst shaking Ori to wake him. Before I could use both of my hands, a sudden rustle in the bushes behind me caught my attention. I quickly stood up and raised my guard, as I cautiously walked towards the disturbance.
After taking several steps slowly towards the rustling, a creature jumped out. The wariness I had just disappeared in a second, as this strange animal showed no hostility. Nor did it look like the type to fight.
Its fur was brown and white, with patterns spanning across its entire body. The ears were long, but shorter than both Ori's and mine. A tail swung behind its back, showing its excitement and curiosity. Though its eyes is was caught my attention the most, they glowed yellow just like the sunlight.
Our height was about the same, including how this creature was lightless.
"Who are you?" I questioned."We are the Moki!" It replied enthusiastically.
"We?" I questioned tilting my head. Though after my words, several Moki jumped out from the bushes into the open. As they surrounded both me and Ori, several began to speak
out loud."You are not like the others."
'The shrieker!' 'The howler!'"In you shines an ancient light."
"The tree remembered."
'It knowed!' 'It glowed!'"It has shared its memory with you."
