"Its called a deadleg, kicking your opponent in the back of the knee if they make the idiotic decision to turn their back from you will cause them to fall or stumble at the least but will inevitably give you the upper hand, try it out but be careful" i instruct my small class, sun warming my arms as i adjust my sports bra and observe the children kicking eachother in the back of the knees making my laugh

I was new to Hilltop, Jesus found me about a month ago in and abandoned Market, living off scraps of half molded food, but that life seemed so far away now. Hilltop was great, I've always had a story to tell, especially about the whole savior War that I knew a little bit about, just cuz I wasn't a part of it doesn't mean that I don't know about it, I mean doesn't mean that I don't know about it

I continue to watch the children, making sure they didn't hurt each other, I turn when I hear Maggie telling the people at the gate to open it, but I didn't pay too much mind to it, thinking it was just the parents come and grab their kids or the Alexandrian and Kingdom leaders who had stopped by occasionally for crates of food in exchange for weapons from our blacksmiths

Most of the kids here didn't even belong to Hilltop, most of them belong to the communities, sometimes the parents stayed, coming out Hill Top with what we needed but some of the other ones went back home, thinking of this is sort of a summer camp kind of thing I guess but I didnt mind, ever since my little brother had passed a few months back it helped me cope being around such young and spirited young adults

"What is this?" Gregory's voice booms as he walks from the gate, his slimming body walking toward where me and the kids stood, stopping a few feet from me

"Hey there Greg" I say with a sweet smile, his eyebrows are drawn together in confusion, maybe anger, but for what?

"What do you think you're doing?"he asks, gesturing at the kids behind me

"I'm teaching self defense, wanna join? We've already been through how to kill walkers but I'd be more than happy to review it if you'd like?" The children snicker behind me as his eyes narrow

This guy has been trying to get back ontop since he was voted out of ruling hilltop, trying to peg Maggie as some irresponsible idiot and who ever followed her suicidal goons

"Are you seriously going to allow this little girl to teach your children how to defend themselves? Prancing around half naked like she's some kind of Amazon? She couldn't even save her own son alive  what makes you think she can help any of you?" He yells, addressing the people who stopped their duties to watch

"That's enough, Gregory" Maggie says sternly, I narrow my eyes and force a smile as I hold up a finger to Maggie, stepping closer to the man who's face held the most smug looks as if daring me to make a move

I cocked my head back and slammed it against his nose

A loud gasp erupted from the watcher's as Gregory yelped in pain, I shoved him causing him to fall to the floor quickly

I smile and stand over him before lowering myself down to hover over his stomach, his hand clenched against his nose as blood poured through his fingers, his eyes wide as they followed my movements carefully

"You should really watch what you say and who you say it to, your not top dog anymore" I lift my pant leg and pull my small hunting knife from its holder and place it against his chest

"You seem to forget that I have no loyalty to you, hell, I would love nothing more than to drive this baby through your chest right now, I think we've all had enough of your pathetic and useless energy around here" I say, my words coming out harsh watching as his eyes widen as I push my blade deeper into his flesh, squirming slightly

"Y/n" Paul says, trying to sedate the rage burning in my chest

I pull my knife away, resting it on his cheek and lean closer "But here's your last chance, Gregory. I hear you say one more disrespectful or demeaning things to me or any of these other people who take pity on you, I'll slit your ankles and to the walkers" I whisper the last part, allowing him to soak in my words, smiling I pull the rage that hung from my back pocket and threw it at his chest

"Clean yourself up, You've got a little blood right there" I tap my nose  mockingly before standing and turning to the staring kids

"That's lunch! I'll see you guys here in an hour, rest up and eat, when you come back we'll review what you've learned" I announce before turning to face a bloody faced Gregory who was held up by Paul (Jesus) and some guy David

"Unless, Gregory has a problem with that?" I ask as I lift an eyebrow at him, willing him to answer

"No" he says, forcing a tight smile as he stands as tall as he could, I smile back at him and place a hand on his shoulder

"Good boy" I say, patting his shoulder before walking to where Maggie stood with Rick and his merry band of Warriors
