I looked back to see more than twenty Reapers after me. My body felt so fatigue.
"Come on!", I gritted through my teeth to myself, "Almost there."
I saw the torch light of the Grounders. As soon as we were within two-hundred feet, they noticed the Reapers running towards them. They charged at me and I swerved off to the left. I got behind a tree and gasped for air. Then I threw up whatever I had left in my stomach. I then got up and ran to camp.
"It's Sloan!", someone shouted. They opened the gate and I ran in.
"Where's Bellamy?!", I shouted.
"Sloan!", he ran to me from the drop ship and hugged me.
"I need you to listen carefully," I took his face in my hand, "Grounders and Reapers are fighting on the border line. The Grounders are coming to find me. They want my head. Lincoln is up in the trees and he's going to shoot me. Just follow along and bring me to the drop ship after. Slid me out the back door to Lincoln. Continue with your plan with moving the people. I'll meet you at the new camp at dusk."
"But-", he started, but cut him off by kissing him. We pulled away and I said, "Trust me. Keep Leyla safe for me."
Before he could say anything else I felt a sharp pain of the arrow through the side of my stomach. I spat out blood.
"No!", Bellamy caught me and picked me up, "Clarke!"
I could here people starting to panic as he rushed to the drop ship.
"Oh my god what happened?", Clarke asked as she cleared the main table.
"Get the door..." I croaked to her.
"Wha-?"
"Just do it. I'll explain later.", Bellamy said. They opened the door and Lincoln was waiting there. Bellamy handed me to Lincoln, but didn't let go of me.
"Take care of her."
Lincoln nodded. Bellamy placed a kiss on my forehead and I managed to say, "May we meet again."
He nodded and went back inside. Lincoln carried me off.
-
"Ready?", Lincoln asked me. I was still bleeding and the arrow was still in me. I nodded and said, "Do whatever you have to do."
"I not going to hurt you anym-"
"I've survived the torture of your people for a whole month. I can take a few minutes."
He hesitated for a little and then nodded. He bounded my hands and feet together, tied a cloth around my mouth, and smeared blood on my face.
I saw Bellamy leading people out of the camp through the back entrance. Then I was dragged off to where the Grounders were.
-
I was pushed onto my knees and forced to look up. A crowd of Grounders enclosed on us and Anya came through them. She looked at me for a while and said to Lincoln, "You have a lot of wit to come back here."
"I'm here to return something that belongs to you."
She didn't say anything for awhile. I was getting weaker by the minute. Lincoln struck my back with the butt of his axe to wake me up. I struggled to get out of his grasp, but he punched me.
"I have who you asked for. I am allowed back in."
"Give me her head. Then we'll see about that.", she turned around and walked off. Lincoln dragged me off as I screamed and kicked. The Grounders just laughed and poked at me as I went.
-
As soon as we got far enough, Lincoln let me go.
"I'm sorry I had to punch you-"
"It's fine. Let's just get this over with."
He took out the head from the sack.
"You need to scream in agony. Grounders' tradition is to torture people for a little but before we kill them."
"Okay.", I panted. I scream as loud as I could, "Stop! No! Please!"
I screamed even more and then stopped suddenly.
"That should do. Hide under here," Lincoln helped me under a thick bush and handed me my weapons back, "Wait for the signal. Come out then."
"Be careful.,"I told him. He went off and I tried to keep myself awake. My stomach was numb from the pain and my head was gushing from the punch.
"I've been through worse.", I assured myself.
-
An hour later, I really thought I was going to die. Right when I was about to close my eyes for good, I heard the bird call. I pulled myself out and saw Lincoln running to me.
"Come on lets go," he picked me up.
"Ahh-! Be careful," I winced. We went off in the same direction Bellamy and the group went.
"Did it work?," I weakly asked.
"Yes."
"Good...," I started to doze off. Lincoln lightly shook my head, "Hang in there. We're almost there."
-
About ten minuets later we reached Lincoln's old cave again. He put me down and quickly got to work on my wound. He didn't hesitate to pull out the arrow. I bit down on my jacket sleeve and tried to not make any noise. He then pressed a heated knife on the wound. I jerked to the sudden pain.
"It's done. You're okay", he wrapped a bandage around it. Beads of sweat were forming on my forehead.
"Thanks", I sighed in distress.
"We'll wait for an hour before we leave again. It's still morning. I need to go back to Anya or else she'll suspect something. I will be back soon. You'll be safe here."
I nodded and closed my eyes. Never in my life have I ever been so tired.
-
I sat up suddenly, wide awake and confused for a second. I looked around and remembered where I was. Footsteps came from the entrance. I readied my gun. Then Lincoln appeared with his hands up, "It's just me."
"Sorry," I put my gun down, "When do we leave?"
"Now."
I noticed that he had some kind of clean robe on.
"Is that a celebration outfit?", I teased. He smiled, "In a way."
He strapped on his stuff and picked me up.
"I can walk."
"You be too slow."
I surrendered and he put me over his shoulders. We ran out towards the new camp.
-
It felt like forever since we left Lincoln's old cave. I heard someone shout, "Open the gate!"
And another one shouted, "Get Bellamy and Clarke."
I knew that we've arrived. A deep, raspy, but warm voice called my name. I was too weak to respond. Lincoln placed me on a stretcher and two guards carried me to Clarke as people started to crowd.
"Get some water and heat it up. You, go and get some cloth and run it under water," Clarke ordered. I was fighting to keep my eyes open.
"Bellamy...," I whispered. Someone took my hand and said, "I'm here."
"Keep talking."
"Leyla's doing great. Raven is keeping her from seeing you like this."
"Good... Tell me about the new place. What does it look like?"
Clarke interrupted, "There's still some shards left in your wound. I'm able to take them out, but you need to keep still."
I nodded and squeezed Bellamy's hand, "Keep talking."
He started to describe the place, but as soon as Clarke dug a knife in my wound, I cried out loud.
"She needs to stay still or else I'm going to puncture her organ!"
Bellamy held my shoulders down, "Hang in there, Sloan."
I tightened my grip on the edge of the stretcher.
"Bellamy?", I panicked, "I can't see anything anymore."
"She's losing too much blood!", Bellamy told Clarke.
"There are two more shards. Just a little longer. Please stay with us, Sloan."
"Just... Take... Them... Out.", I grimaced.
"Okay! Their out!", Clarke said. I relaxed and held onto Bellamy's hand as she bandaged me up. I was panting and fatigued.
"You did good.", Bellamy whispered.
"I need to go help the others. Make sure she drink lots of water. Try to not make her speak too much", Clarke said to him, then she said to me, "Get a lot of rest. And... Thank you. For what you did. It was brave."
She slightly squeezed my wrist. I felt my forehead being dabbed by cloth.
"I'm fine, Bel.", I took his hand and held it.
"Get some sleep."
"Don't go anywhere. Please..."
"Don't worry. I'll be right here."
I closed my eyes and let out a relieved sigh.
