As the years passed Jungkook never once regretted the decision he made to keep his daughter. Not during the sleepless nights, disrupted study time, all the failed relationships when they found out he had a child waiting for him back at home. Asami was worth it all.

Getting a degree in psychology wasn't easy for Jungkook, but with the constant help and support from his parents, he managed it. At this point, he has them to thank for basically everything within his life. That's what made moving away so hard. It was inevitable that one day he would take the mortifying step in his life, he was comfortably into adulthood now at twenty-three, it was time for him to stop leaning on his parents so much. However, moving to Seoul, far away from his own home, he couldn't help but feel as if he were still a helpless teenager.

Even with a secured job and an above-average first house to move into he couldn't help but feel like a fish out of water, forever picking up his phone in the temptation to call his mother and ask her to visit for a few days. Thank goodness he had the sense to stop himself and keep his parents from the worry of him not coping by himself. Asami was the only thing that kept him sane, the little bit of company keeping him from getting too much inside of his own head and freaking out. There wasn't a chance he could cope without that little ray of sunshine by his side. And, as an added bonus, he had his two best friends Namjoon and Jin living within walking distance of his own home for whenever he needs grown-up company. Logically thinking, moving out was not as daunting as he had originally thought, despite what his anxiety keeps wanting him to think.

Now, at five-years-old, Asami was officially ready for her first day of kindergarten. It was another huge milestone in his parenting life, an exciting time for them both. Although, seeing how fast his little girl seemed to be growing up, Jungkook couldn't help but feel a little emotional for the day ahead.

"Daddy, hurry your bum. I don't want to be late for school!" Asami whined as she pulled on her Jungkook's hand, leading him to the kitchen so he could prepare her cereal.

Jungkook yawns, running his free hand over his face in an attempt to rub some sleep from his eyes. "Just a minute pancake, Grandma wants to FaceTime you so she can wish you good luck on your first day," he says as he picks his phone up from the kitchen side, preparing to send his mother a text to see if she was free for the call.

Within the next second Jungkook earns a response, his phone lighting up with the text before he even had the time to place it back down. Then, the call comes in, showing just how excited his mother was for the day. "Hi, mom," Jungkook answers, tone light and filled with amusement.

"Wheres my granddaughter? I called to see her not you," Jangmi says with a frown.

"Wow, such a lovely hello, I feel so loved," Jungkook rolls his eyes before passing the phone to Asami who was making grabby hands at him, impatiently waiting.

"Grannie!" Asami squeals as she brings the phone far too close to her face, though Jangmi doesn't complain about only being able to see her eyes.

"Hello, sweetie! Are you excited for your first day of kindergarten?"

The little girl squeals again making Jungkook wince in discomfort, he's not used to this level of excitement so early on a Monday morning. Usually, he enjoys the silence as he gulps down a cup of coffee.

"I'm so excited I could burst! Hana is starting school today too!" She says as she twirls the phone around, dangerously close to dropping it onto the wooden flooring the kitchen was adorned with.

"Be careful with the phone, pancake," Jungkook warns as he places a bowl of cereal in front of Asami. Generally, he doesn't like being such a naggy parent, but since he's already had to pay out to fix his phone screen twice this year he'll make an exception.
