First Date

"But I don't want to sleep over at Jinie and Joonie's, I want to stay here with you." Asami whined sadly, clinging onto Jungkook's leg as he was trying to get ready to leave the house. 

Jungkook sighs, he always feels bad about leaving his daughter when she's being clingy, but he can't cancel his date with Taehyung. Well, he can, but he doesn't want to. "I'm not staying here, little squish. I'm going out with a friend and you can't come with me, don't you want to play with Hana? And Jin said he bought all the ingredients for cookies, both you girls can help him bake them."

"But I love daddy more than I love cookies." The little girl pouts causing Jungkook's heart to break a little bit more.

"What if I promise you an extra scoop of ice cream tomorrow?" Jungkook tries to bargain.

"With extra sprinkles?" Asami looks up with glistening eyes.

"With extra sprinkles." Jungkook repeats, confirming the deal.

"And chocolate sauce?"

"Pancake, don't push it."

Asami goes back to pouting, crossing her arms this time for added effect.

"Fine, and chocolate sauce."

"Yay!" Asami cheers, skipping off to her bedroom to grab a toy to take to her sleepover.

Jungkook sighs in relief, he might have been a massive pushover but he always is when it comes to his daughter, willing to do anything and everything in order to ensure her happiness. The little girl comes back into the living room with 5 plushies in her arms to which Jungkook rolls his eyes at.

"You know you can only take one toy, you'll forget to bring them back if you take any more than that."

"But I can't decide what to take!" Asami whines in protest but Jungkook's determined not to give into any more of the girls' demands.

"Choose one quickly then, we have to leave."

Jungkook walks over to the door, glancing quickly over his shoulder to see his daughter in what seems to be a mental dilemma. She finally decides on taking her panda plushie, giving the others a quick sorry and a few kisses before leaving them behind on the sofa and running over to her dad at the door.

"I have all of her stuff in this bag if there are any issues then don't even hesitate to call me, I don't care if you don't want to ruin my date Asami is more important."

"This isn't the first time I've had her overnight, everything will be fine. Stop being so angsty and go get your man." Jin encourages.

Jungkook nods in agreement, turning to leave the house before he remembers to say something. "Please don't mention to Asami who I'm out with, I don't want her to get her hopes up in case the date is a flop."

"My lips are sealed, now leave." Jin practically pushes him out of the door, earning a glare from the younger.

Jungkook takes a deep breath to compose himself before he drives off to Taehyung's house, he really wants this date to go well but he doesn't want to have all his hope riding on it. This will be the first date he's gone on in over two years, he stopped attempting to find connections with people and just settled for random hookups instead to release some tension. But he feels as if he's really found something decent in Taehyung, the man is potentially someone who can complete his family and he's desperate not to ruin that.

He finally stops the car in front of Taehyung's house 5 minutes later, he's a little bit late so he hopes the elder won't be mad. He takes another deep breath before exiting the car and walking up the path to his door, hesitantly knocking once he gets there. The door swings open about a minute later revealing a cheery Taehyung looking the most beautiful Jungkook had ever seen him, he almost melts on the spot at the site.
