Asami was rolling about on the floor, Yeontan jumping around her as she whined impatiently. "When's daddy coming back? I wanna see my friends!"
"Soon princess," Taehyung says for the tenth time in half an hour. He was trying to play off the fact he was stressing too, this was the first birthday party that they had been invited too and he doesn't want to start it off by being branded as the 'family that shows up late'.
They should've just went out and bought a present for the child last week, but they finally found a time to sit down and wedding plan seen as Asami had a Saturday night sleepover at Jin and Namjoon's house. It was rare they got time to sit down just the two of them and completely focus on planning the details for their wedding, so it's natural they were going to choose it over buying a present for another child's birthday party.
"Okay, daddy's outside. Put Tanie in his pen and then we can go." Taehyung says quickly as he makes sure they've got everything, trying to ignore the fact the time was definitely ticking down quickly.
Asami struggles to pick up Yeontan to place him within the pen, but she always did insist on doing it by herself. Once he was secure and happy she quickly skipped over to the door, shoes already on since Taehyung wanted to be completely ready for Jungkook's 'I'm outside' text. They rush out the door, Taehyung locking it quickly behind them and scooping Asami up so he could quickly place her into her car seat knowing how long it took her to climb in and get up herself. He finally throws himself into the passenger seat, breathing heavily as he puts his seatbelt on which makes Jungkook laugh at him.
"In a rush, are you?" Jungkook teases.
"Do you want me to hit you? Because I will hit you."
"I don't see why you're stressing so much, we're not going to be late."
Taehyung glares at him, he swears he's explained this to the younger at least five times already. "Yoongi knows I'm always early, I haven't been late for work once in the four years I've been working at his school. So if we're late then It means you've made me late, and that will lead to Yoongi getting the wrong first impression of you. Do you want that Kookie? Do you want to look like you're dragging down my good name?"
"Wow, chill. I was only teasing." Jungkook laughs.
"Daddys?" Asami calls from the backseat, both of the men in the front humming in recognition. "Can we listen to my playlist?"
Jungkook groans, she always requests to listen to the playlist Taehyung made for her consisting of a mixture of Disney songs and other kid tunes. Taehyung throws him a glare, not wanting Asami to know the playlist made both of them want to jump out of the car from how overplayed it was. Quite frankly he regrets ever making it but he'll never admit that out loud.
"Sure, princess." Taehyung smiles instead, connecting his phone to the car Bluetooth and pressing shuffle on the playlist, a song from The Little Mermaid instantly filling the silence in the car.
"If I ever find it in myself to hate you for anything, the reason will definitely be the making of this playlist." Jungkook sighs.
"I thought it was a good idea at the time, I didn't know she would become emotionally attached to it," Taehyung whispers back.
Thankfully the drive to Yoongi's house wasn't long meaning they only had to endure a couple of songs before they could finally escape. Asami was bouncing happily in her seat, excited to spend the day playing with all her school friends, she runs up to the door eagerly with both her dad's following close behind.
"Tae, hi." Yoongi smiles as he answers the door, stepping aside so they could all come in. "Everyone's in there if you want to go in, little one," he says sweetly to Asami, motioning to a room that the little girl was quick to run into.
