Every encounter Jungkook had with Taehyung seemed coincidental, like the universe was drawing them together. It begun with the grocery store encounter the day before halloween, he didn't know why the sudden encounter made his heart race so fast, it was just a man doing his shopping after all.

Another coincidence happened the very next day, Jungkook had been standing outside a house in the neighbourhood with Jin and Namjoon whilst their daughter's knocked on the door, only to reveal a very bright and cheery Taehyung ready to hand out some candy. Jungkook wanted to ignore the situation for the sake of his sanity but the combination of the two girls squealing and his two best friends rushing to the door to say hi, he had to join in the avoidance of being rude. Taehyung ended up giving the girls both a Halloween biscuit each that he had baked earlier that day which made Jungkook silently curse because seriously, could this man get any more adorable?

The third incident happened a few days later, Jungkook was on his lunch break from work and decided to go to the coffee shop down the road for a well-needed fix of caffeine, and who happened to be there? Kim Taehyung, of course. The man was sat there with a mug of hot chocolate, typing away on his laptop seemingly completely immersed in something. Jungkook had stared for short- okay a long while whilst he was waiting for his coffee to be made, he was transfixed by the cute way Taehyung would furrow his brows as he concentrated, and how that sinful tongue darted out every minute or so to wet those equally as sinful lips. It took Jungkook's name to be yelled out, notifying his order was ready, to snap him out of his daze. The older's head shot up once he heard the familiar name, a smile instantly spreading across his face when he saw it was, in fact, the man he knew. He invited him to sit down for a while with him which was (in Jungkook's eyes) a bad idea, but he accepted anyway. The younger found out that Taehyung was working on lesson plans for the upcoming term, wanting to be completely prepared for the following weeks which Jungkook more than admired, he was whipped for good organisation skills. They discussed what the younger did for work and by the end of his lunch break he feels like he knew Taehyung better and vice versa, he left the coffee shop with a spring in his step that day, and with a racing heart for the third time that week.

Jungkook was always someone who believed in signs so he couldn't possibly ignore all these coincidences. He thought it must be fate telling him to finally do something, ask the man out, just make a God damn move already. But instead of texting Taehyung and asking him to hang out sometime, he went to his best friends to whine about it.

"I'm telling you, he's everywhere I go! Maybe he's following me? What if he's a stalker?"

"Kook, for starters HE'S everywhere YOU go, meaning he was in the place before you even arrived there, do you think he's a psychic? Ever thought that it's maybe just fate drawing you together?" Jin takes a sip of his tea as he raises an eyebrow at the younger.

"Have I thought about it? Seriously, It's literally all I can think about, but I'm trying to talk myself out of it!" Jungkook whines childishly making the other two roll their eyes.

"I thought raising a child had made you more mature but clearly I was very wrong." Namjoon shakes his head in disapproval making Jungkook pout.

"Why are you trying to talk yourself out of dating the man? He's an angel. He's everything you need in your life, he's mature, he's beautiful, he has his life together, he bloody adores your daughter! What more could you possibly want?" Jin is all but physically shaking him at this point, trying desperately to get some sense into his thick skull.

Jungkook sighs heavily, "I've been screwed over one too many times in the past, Jin. What if he just does the same?"

"You've been screwed over once people find out what baggage you've got, Taehyung already knows, It's out in the open, I know for sure he'd be honoured to try and fit into your family."

"Fine, fine. I'll text him, okay?" Jungkook finally gives in.

"No you will not, you will call him like the adult you are." Jin scolds, shoving Jungkook's phone into his hands as he does so.

"Wow, you're worse than my real mom sometimes, you know that?"

Jungkook nervously dials Taehyung's number, picking at the rip in his jeans as he waits for an answer.

"Hello?"

A beautiful deep voice sounds through the phone making Jungkook's mind go blank, he probably would've completely zoned out if Jin didn't elbow him in the ribs to make him focus. "Oh, shit. I mean, hi Taehyung, It's Jungkook."

"I know, there's a thing called caller ID" Taehyung chuckles.

"Oh right, of course. Erm, I'm sorry if I'm bothering you..."

"Of course not, I wasn't doing anything too important. Was there something you needed?"

"Yeah... I mean no, not needed, there's something I wanted though... I mean if you wanted as well, it can't be just me wanting it."

Jin practically facepalmed from the seat next to him, he wondered if Jungkook had really ever asked someone on a date before, it was honestly painful to watch.

"Are you offering me an inappropriate service right now, Jungkook? Because it sounds like-"

"NO! Oh God, no. Not at all, that's not what I meant!" Jungkook panics, this conversation was going from bad to worse real quick. "I just wanted to know if you wanted to hang out sometime? You know... alone? But not in an inappropriate way! More like... a date I guess?"

"You guess?"

"I mean would you like to go on a date with me sometime?"

"I would love that."

Taehyung giggles through the phone, making the whole of Jungkook's body heat up.

"Great! I was thinking Saturday maybe? If you're free that is..."

"Saturday sounds great."

"Okay, I'll pick you up from your house, around 6 maybe? I know the address after Halloween an' all." Jungkook chuckles nervously.

"Sounds perfect, I can't wait."

"Me neither! Bye Taehyung, I'll see you on Saturday."

"Goodbye, Jungkook."

Jungkook hangs up the phone and practically squeals like a teenage girl, causing both Jin and Namjoon to smirk.

"The man must really like you, that phone call was one of the most awkward things I've ever had to experience." Namjoon jokes, making Jungkook want to curl up in a ball and die.

But he couldn't do that, no. He had a date with Taehyung to look forward to and he couldn't be happier, he was finally acknowledging all the signs and letting the universe guide him for a change. He must admit, it feels good.
