For the first time in his life, Jungkook wouldn't be spending Christmas day at his childhood home. It was a little sad thinking that he wouldn't have the setting he's used to for the day, but seeing how excited Taehyung was to be the one hosting this year made it easier for him to get used to. Besides, staying at home was much less stressful than travelling down to Busan with two small children and a dog.
Staying in Seoul also meant that he was able to visit his best friends on Christmas Eve, allowing Asami to also spend the day with her best friend which she was very excited for. He finds himself laughing as he knocks on the door, Asami bouncing on her heels in excitement next to him as Minjun rests on his hip playing with the strings of the hoodie he was wearing. Thankfully it doesn't take Jin too long to answer since his choice of clothing really wasn't 'December weather' worthy, he honestly doesn't know why he disregarded Taehyung's concern and refused to wear his coat, he really should start listening to his husband more.
"You're on time, I'm shocked," Jin says as he opens the door, an over-exaggerated look of shock on his face to stress his point. He steps to the side and gestures for them all to come in to which they all eagerly follow.
Hana runs out of the living room as soon as she hears her dad speaking, squealing loudly as she runs towards Asami for a hug. "Sami I missed you!" She yells loudly, both of the girls squeezing each other as they giggle.
"I missed you more!" Asami replies equally as loud, and Jungkook was sure he was going to go deaf if they continued standing in the hallway.
"Can we go to my room and play with my toys, daddy?" Hana asks as she looks up at her dad, her arms still tightly wrapped around Asami.
"Of course, sweetie." Jin smiles.
Hana squeals before pulling Asami quickly up the stairs, the giggles becoming muffled as soon as they hear the door close. "And now I have a headache," Jungkook groans causing Jin to laugh at him as he leads them into the living room to sit down with Namjoon.
"Extra energy, the perks of the festive break."
"Or maybe she's just hyped up after all those Christmas cookies you let her eat," Namjoon interjects, putting his hands up in defence when Jin glares angrily at him.
"They were still warm, you know how much she loves warm cookies." Jin huffs, crossing his arms over his chest as he turns his attention back to Jungkook. "Where's Tae?"
"You've only just realised he isn't here?" Jungkook raises an eyebrow.
"Well I noticed when I opened the door, but between the girls screaming the place down and my husband being a salty little salmon over here I didn't get the chance to ask you where he was."
"I'm not a salty little-"
"Joonie, please. I ask Kook a question, let him answer."
Jungkook stifles a laugh at the couple which earns him a glare from Jin, the glare urging him to reply, fearing for his life if he didn't. "Tae insisted on staying home, he needs to deep clean the house and start some Christmas dinner prep before my parents get there."
"And you didn't stay to help him?" Jin questions.
"I took the kids out of the house to give him space, I am helping him." Jungkook shrugs, gesturing down at Minjun seated on his lap who was now happily chewing on the strings of his hoodie to prove his point.
"Nana," Minjun drops the strings to say, looking up at Jungkook with his big eyes. "Nana," he repeats when he sees his dad isn't moving.
Fearing him saying it a third time and seeing Minjun was beginning to get fussy about the whole thing, Jungkook quickly searches through the bag in search of the little snack pot he brought for him.
