Can't Turn Back

I skipped through the woods in high spirits, feeling a little lonely without Smile. I was a real pasta, maybe, the excitement welled up in me ready to pop like a bubble. I sung at the top of my lungs, just a load of random things, hitting leaves and other stupid things. I needed fresh blood. I had only killed recently but I didn't care, I wanted more but first I needed to create my own special room. I had planned it all out in my head. It would be in the shack, the one where Jeff told me he didn't love me, and I'd have a chair for my patients to sit in and a range of tools to make them better. I guess it actually depended on your definition of better like, more dead, less annoying. So first I'd need a knife -which I already had-, pliers and a lighter. That was all, oh and rope, preferably attached to the arms of the chair. I wouldn't use my little torture house all the time, only on special occasions, too much planning involved. Well there wasn't but I was just lazy. I was pretty sure there was already a chair in there and I guess I could use vines or those bendy annoying branches you can find by little rivers that just don't break. I probably wouldn't need to bolt the chair to the floor because humans, as I have discovered, are brain-dead. So all that left was pliers and a lighter, you could find those easily in a garage. I pushed my way out of the undergrowth that was thickening as I got further into the forest and set out for my tools, and more blood. I licked my lips, the thought of blood made my mouth water. I couldn't forget about him, or maybe I could. I didn't want to be doing him, or anyone, any favours. Never again. His last words still penetrated me like the icy cold of winter. I didn't feel like doing any work right now though. I had finished my crazy singing by now and had calmed down a bit. Bored; that's what I was. A sudden speck hit me on the head, rain. I hadn't rained in a while actually but the heavens opened. Thunder cracked with a light across the sky and the light briefly burst through the trees. I was instantly soaked from the water streaming from the sky and trickling through the leaves. I sighed, this dress better dry quickly. Just as I was about to carry on closer to anywhere I could find someone to terrorize I heard shuffling. I sounded like someone rummaging through the undergrowth. I spun round and eyed the area suspiciously and when I was sure there was nobody there, shrugged and carried on. I could see the faint outline of some buildings quite a while away. I was nearing the edge of the woods. As I started to walk again, I heard more noise. Shuffling among the leaves again and it was accompanied by a low noise. It wasn't a growl, more like a, well. It was hard to describe, just imagine someone drowning. I twisted into a crouch and got my knife in hand. 'Who's there?' I demanded. The noises stopped again and aside from the thunder and rain, the woods were still. Rain pounded upon the ground so hard that it sounded like the earth had a heartbeat. I squinted beyond the rain but the silvery curtain limited my vision. I waited. Through the rain I saw two silver disks hovering between the trees, was I imagining things? No, after all I'd been through, it was too late to use that as an excuse. My body tensed up, waiting for attack but it all happened so fast. My legs were knocked out from beneath me and hitting me head hard into the ground caused my vision to blur over. Panic flared through my whole body and I got up off the floor and readied myself for the next blow. It didn't come. All was silent once more except for the hammering of the rain on the ground. 'Who's there?' I demanded, my survival instinct kicking in. Then I thought, no, I was not the prey, I was the predator. Then giggling again. I knew that laugh. 'Sally, you little bitch,' I complained. 'Hey!' she complained, coming out of the rain, which had gotten so bad that I couldn't see further than five feet in front of me, 'I can't take all the credit.' The silver disks I saw earlier appeared again and followed her obediently. The silvery curtain of rain revealed what looked like Satan's dog. It was grey and alienish and moved, without grace, on its hands -if that's what you would call them- and legs. It looked human but not. It had grey skin that stretched thinly over thick bones. It's spine stood out clearly and it's fingers were made from long bone. Where it should've had eyes were empty black sockets and a flat nose. The most disturbing feature was it's mouth which was lined with sharp jagged teeth. 'Woah, new pet?' I joked, mainly because I was nervous. The creature made the same drowning noise as it did before as if I'd offended it. She sighed and shook her head and rolled her eyes, it looked funny coming from a little girl. 'Do you not know anything?' she complained. I simply raised my eyebrow. She sighed again and gestured to the thing staring at me with it's empty eyes, 'This, is the Rake.'

'Uh,' I said dumbly. 'Oh for god's sake,' she said, flinging her hands up into the air in frustration. 'Basically this is who helps guards the pasta mansion, along with the wards we put up of course.' Oh, I thought. That made sense. 'Well okay but I hardly see why you needed to go to all that trouble to tell me that,' I said, rubbing the back of my head as if to magically rub away the headache I could feel growing. Putting her hands on her hips she said, 'Look, you need to hurry up about finding your lover, Slendy isn't going to wait long y'know.' Slendy? Slenderman? I used to play the games with Jeff but, no, this was weird. Oh well, weird was my life. 'Yeah yeah, I'm working on it,' I said casually. I wasn't. 'If you need help-'

'No, no help,' I cut her off. I didn't want anyone interfering. I wasn't even sure what I really wanted to do if I found him. He had destroyed me. 'Well, whatever, if you need us you know where we are,' she shrugged and I watched both her and the Rake disappear into the rain. Maybe I could go and visit the mansion and stay there, it was better than living in a shack tainted by the most painful memory I had. All memories of home and my past life were long gone now. My new life had started now and it would be amazing. I was a new person and was hopefully going to make new friends and I knew that I was going to love it.
