'Where are we going again?' I questioned Clockwork as she directed me through a series of winding streets by following some scrawled directions from a crumpled piece of paper. I was pretty sure that we were actually lost when we passed the same graffiti covered lamp post for what seemed like the third time. Maybe it was just my imagination. She sighed, her mind was half focused on finding our way and half focused on not completely stressing out at me. 'I've already explained this.'

'I wasn't listening the first time,' I admitted. 'Times,' she corrected, 'Before we can go anywhere, we have to get Cherry.' Clockwork was already wound up -no pun intended- over getting us ready to go out in public. We needed to alter our appearances just in case anybody who saw us recognised us. My hair had been curled and pinned up in various places, I protested as I really didn't like having my hair up but Clockwork insisted that it looked nice. Clockwork had also done my makeup well enough to disguise the scar on my face that Jeff caused. I had also been forced to wear some green contacts because apparently my eyes looked too murderous. I disagreed but I've learnt not to argue with Clockwork because it doesn't get anyone very far. Clockwork had done something similar but instead of wearing contacts, she was wearing dark sunglasses so nobody could see her eye. 'Here,' she said. 'Finally,' I groaned, 'My feet are killing me.' Clockwork shot me an annoyed look,'We've been walking for, I don't know, fifteen minutes maybe?'
'But these shoes hurt,' I protested. She ignored me and walked up the path of a house, wanting me to follow. Unlike the other houses on this street, this house was more unkempt. The path was uneven and I struggled not to trip getting to the door. Weeds were sprouting up everywhere and moss grew on the walls of the house. All the curtains were drawn and to be honest, it looked like the house was abandoned. Clockwork dropped to the floor searching for something with her hands in the cracks of the wall. She retrieved a key and I rolled my eyes. This felt so cliché. Once Clockwork unlocked the door -with some difficulty- it creaked open and revealed a dark room which actually contrasted drastically with the outside of the house. I walked in and observed the room while Clockwork went into another room to get Cherry. Almost everything in this room was red. The walls, the carpet, the sofa, all the ornaments, even the TV was red and everything seemed to be in its exact place. Just as I was admiring the room, I heard a loud excited squeal from the next room. 'HEEEEEEEY!' I knew immediately that it would be Cherry unless Clockwork's voice had magically turned very high pitched. Through the living room door skipped a very bubbly looking girl who was most likely the same age as both me and Clockwork (though Clockwork was the most mature in the mansion.) She had bright red hair which fell to her waist and wore a black hoodie dress with black and white striped socks which came up to her thighs. To me, she just looked like a normal human being. 'Hey, omg it's you, Jane, right? I've heard all about you from Slenderman. Have you met him yet? He knows everything about all the pastas and proxies and-'

'Cherry!' Clockwork cut her off, 'Don't forget to breathe.' Cherry slowed down, 'Oh, sorry. Am I talking too fast again? I do that a lot.' She flopped lazily on to the red sofa, 'So what are the plans?' she asked. 'Well I was planning a shopping day,' Clockwork explained. I sighed in frustration, 'If you'd have told me that I would have brought some money.'

'Oh yeah, sorry I forgot. I suppose we can't do that then.' Cherry perked up again, 'We should just hang here and chat, it's been ages since I've had a proper conversation with you and I want to get to know Jane.' She turned to me, 'Tell her you want to stay here,' Cherry said, 'Pleasepleasepleasepleasepleaseee.' I shrugged and looked at Clockwork who looked like she didn't seem to mind the idea. 'Whatever,' she said. She joined Cherry on the sofa and I did too. 'Sooo,' Clockwork began shyly, 'Toby and I are finally together.'

'What?! Girl you've had a crush on him for like forever. Tell me all about it,' Cherry said very quickly and enthusiastically. 'I don't know, he just asked me to be his girlfriend and boom, we are now a thing,' she said. She was trying to pretend like she didn't think it was a big deal but the smile in her eyes was proof that it was. Cherry turned to me, 'What about you? Are you seeing anyone special at the minute?' she asked. Jeff briefly crossed my mind and I felt a stab of guilt but I brushed it to the back of my mind with all my other unwanted thoughts. 'No, not really.'

'Liar,' Clockwork accused teasingly. 'Her and Masky are dating,' she told Cherry.

'What? We are not!' I protested. 'Fine,' said Clockwork folding her arms. 'TICKLE HER!' she yelled. Before I could even react Clockwork and Cherry dived on me and began to tickle me. 'No!' I yelled and wriggled around trying to escape. 'No, tell the truth,' Clockwork said. 'Fine,' I managed to stutter between outraged giggles. Both of them backed off and let me get my breath back before telling them what they wanted to know. I folded my arms defensively to protect my ribs from another malicious tickle-attack. 'Yes, me and Masky are sorta close.'

'I knew it!' This time it was Clockwork who was squealing. She punched her fist in the air in victory. I played with my hands before admitting, 'He told me what happened to him...' That shut both of them up, at least until Cherry gasped, 'He told you..? But that means you're the only person who knows.'

'Yeah....' I said quietly, regretting saying anything. Cherry and Clockwork sat processing this for a minute. 'He must really love you,' Cherry finally said thoughtfully. I blushed slightly, 'Mhm.' A knock on the door made us all jump slightly. 'I'll get it,' I offered as I jumped up off the sofa. I had barely opened the door when a dozen of our friends burst into the room. 'You're having a party and you didn't invite us?' Ben pouted. Cherry jumped up excitedly to chat with everyone else who had joined us. 'Hey,' I heard the familiar voice say, the voice that I loved so much. Masky's warm arms pulled me into a hug. 'You smell nice,' I giggled. 'Thanks.' There were about twenty people crammed in the room now and some dance music had begun to play. 'Partaaay!' someone yelled, most likely Cherry.

We spent the rest of that day all chatting, laughing, dancing and having a good time until everyone finally left to go back to the mansion. By the time night had fallen there were only Cherry, Masky and myself left. As me and Masky were about to leave, Cherry gave me a goodbye hug. 'It was so nice to meet you,' she said smiling. Masky had already started making his way out and I was just about to step through the door when Cherry grabbed my arm and dragged me back into the house. In a very low voice she whispered, 'I'd watch out for Hoodie if I were you, he can be very extreme at times and today I saw him watching you and he did not look very friendly towards you.' Her eyes were perfectly serious and honest. I nodded, her warning sent shivers down my spine because of what had happened previously. 'Thank you,' I whispered. She gave me a sad smile and let go of my arm. I caught up with Masky, 'You okay?' he asked. 'Yeah,' at least I hoped I would be.
