I tried to push away the person who was shaking my shoulder trying to get me up. 'Leave me alone, I'm sleeping,' I protested. The person began to tickle me and in 0.2 seconds flat I was awake and had moved away from the evil person who was trying to tickle me. The evil person actually happened to be Masky. 'Oh...' I said. 'I always seem to find you sleeping in the weirdest places.'
'Yeah well you're still wearing the same clothes and yesterday and the day before and the day before and-'
'Okay, okay. I'll get changed when I get home,' He said. That made me think, did he ever take his mask off, at all. Did he sleep in it? 'Do you sleep in your mask?' I blurted. 'Yes.' I guessed that his mask was a sensitive subject for him but I was just so curious. He stood up, offering his hand to help me up off the cold hard ground. 'Thanks,' I said gratefully, brushing some dirt off my bare legs. I hadn't changed out of my dress but I hadn't really had time to. 'Can we go back?' I asked Masky, who for some reason seemed to be staring at me. He realised that I'd caught him staring and he looked away, scratching the back of his head awkwardly, 'Yeah but will you be okay? He will still be there.' I scowled. That was a thought, what would I do about seeing Jeff? I remained quiet. 'I actually um... need to tell you something regarding Jeff...' Oh no... it couldn't be worse than him showing up at the mansion could it? 'They've decided to let him stay, he's chosen his room,' Masky told me sympathetically. I just breathed in a long breath. 'He chose that room next to yours.' Boom. It got worse. A lot worse. 'I'm not staying in there as long as he's there,' I snapped making Masky flinch. 'Well....' he started hesitantly, 'Would you feel better staying in my room? I know it's basically still next to him but it might help. You can take my bed, I'll sleep on the floor,' he offered. His offer made me smile, 'Maybe I will.' Although I couldn't see his face, I could tell he was smiling. 'We should probably go back now then if you feel like you'll be okay,' Masky proposed. I nodded in agreement. I supposed I couldn't hide from this all my life. 'Let's go then,' Masky turned to walk back but I grabbed his arm, 'Wait,' I stopped him, 'Can I just sleep for a bit more? I'm tired.' Masky gave me a look of disapproval. 'Sleep? Here? I won't allow you to sleep on the floor again,' he gestured to the blood soaked ground which was littered with bodies that were already beginning to rot. I stuck my bottom lip out childishly, 'But I'm tired,' I protested. He sighed. Even his sigh was perfect... He turned around, 'Climb on my back, I'll carry you.'
'Yay!' I climbed onto his back, suddenly feeling like a young child again and he held on to my legs so I didn't fall. As he walked I could feel the muscles in his back moving. He didn't look as strong as he was and I had learnt that from hunting with him and watching him move stealthily around when we were hunting. I rested my head on his shoulder and relaxed. For some reason I always felt comfortable around Masky, even when he was mad. The rhythmic beat of his footsteps on the ground helped me slip into a perfect sleep.
I gradually opened my eyes to see that we had just arrived at the mansion. 'Are you awake sleepyhead?' Masky teased. 'Mmfnpft,' was all I could muster at this point. Masky laughed at me and I could feel his muscles move again. 'You really need to stop falling asleep when I'm around. This is the third time now.'
'Stoppp,' I complained, still trying to pull myself out of sleep's clutches. 'Um, okay?' Masky replied, probably confused by my response. To be honest, I said weird things when I had just woke up. It took a while for my brain to start functioning properly again. 'Well we're here now so,' Masky dropped me and I landed clumsily on my butt. 'Noo!' I screamed. He began to laugh at me that much that he had to hold his stomach. 'Oh you'll pay for that mister,' I fumed as I tried to de-tangle myself and get back up. Once I was back on my feet I rushed at Masky but he easily grabbed my wrists and held me off. 'Let go!' I protested. 'Nope,' he said, popping the 'p.' 'Damn you and your super cute muscles,' I sulked. Oh god no. I had not just said that out loud. I mentally slapped myself while Masky tipped his head to one side, releasing my wrists. 'Oh, so you think I'm cute?' he teased. I folded my arms defensively, 'I said your muscles not you!'
