It was early in the afternoon when Avi parked his car in the driveway of his parents' home. Traffic had been horrible and it had taken him almost two hours more than usually. It had been stressful. Still, as soon as he had entered the familiar neighbourhood he suddenly felt calm. At peace.

Home.

Or rather one version of it. After all his home now was Los Angeles, most of the time, but also all over the world as long as he was with Mitch and Scott. Still, he would always call Visalia his home, too. The feeling towards it had changed, but thinking of Visalia and coming here always made Avi feel warm and comfortable.

The bearded man took his bags and walked up to the front door, grinning widely when his mother opened the door before he even reached the porch. "Hello, Mama" he greeted her warmly. He put down his luggage and opened his arms.

"Avriel, it's so good to see you" Shelly replied. She pulled him in for a hug, holding on to him for a long moment.

"I am glad to be here" Avi returned. He let go of her and looked at her. "You're looking good. Relaxed."

"I have my baby home, I am happy" Shelly said with a smile on her face. "Now come on in. Are you hungry?"

Avi took his bags and followed his mother into the house. "I am. Hungry and a little tired."

"I'll prepare some tea then and turn on the oven. Food will be ready in twenty, just in case you want to go upstairs and settle in" Shelly explained.

"I will. Where's Dad?"

"Oh he's out with his friends. Fishing. If we get lucky we'll get fresh fish for tonight or tomorrow" Shelly explained.

"Uuuuh lovely!" Avi grinned. "Anyway, I'll head up to the bathroom real quick."

After a nice meal and a cup of tea, Avi and his mother went out for a short walk through the neighbourhood. It was sunny and most people were outside, doing some work in the garden. They met old friends and neighbours and spent some time talking to some of them. Avi was glad to have that time for once. It also made him happy that most people asked for Scott and Mitch as if it was the most natural thing in the world. They had accepted that he was with two men and didn't question it at all.

"They're back at home in LA" he would answer. "They're putting out a new album as Superfruit, so they're very busy. But we're still together!" He said that proudly, he just loved to share his happiness with everyone who asked.

In the evening they had a delicious dinner. Avi's father had been successful during his fishing trip, so they had fresh fish which Avi cooked together with his mother.

After dinner they stayed at the table for the longest time, simply catching up with one another.

"Did you think of anything you wanted to do this weekend?" Michael asked him.

"Mmhm, I'm missing the sequoias, so I really wanna go there for a day" Avi explained.

"Do you mind if I join you?" Michael asked.

Avi smiled at his father. "I would love to go hiking with you, Dad! I missed our little trips."

On the next day they drove out to the Sequoia National Park. They had to walk for almost two hours until they reached their goal, Freeman's Tree. It was one of their favourite spots, they had hiked here countless times in the past. Still it had been a while since they had been there and Avi was glad to be there again.

Avi had his father take a picture of him standing in front of the majestic tree. He wanted to post this on his social media. Even though he had been with Scott and Mitch for a while now, he still didn't use them as much. He would usually post short covers, announcements or pictures of nature. He loved showing everyone how beautiful nature could be and that wonderous spots could be found everywhere.
