Scott and Mitch stayed in the studio room for some time. They were cosy, lying on the sofa together snuggling.
"What was that song you played before I came in?" Mitch asked after a while. "That sounded so beautifully and sad at the same time."
"Before you go by Lewis Capaldi. I think he's British" Scott replied. "I just thought that the chorus fit perfectly with what I was feeling about Avi. The rest of the song not so much, because it is actually aboout a break up and I hope that we're not there. Cross that out, I am sure that we are not there."
"Mmh I hope..." Mitch replied.
"You should" Scott replied. He kissed his boyfriend's cheek softly and squeezed him slightly. "We will be okay, Mitchy, he'll come back home. And he..." Scott stopped there because he heard both his and Mitch's phones beeping.
"This must be Avi" Mitch said and looked at Scott, who had already taken his phone.
"Yes. It's him. He's asking if we could facetime after his shower..." Scott said. "He wants to explain..."
Mitch nodded. "Of course. As soon as he's ready. We'll wait for him, right?"
Scott smiled and nodded. "We will" he said as he replied to Avi.
Mitch looked over his shoulder as he typed. "Perfect" he commented and Scott sent the message off.
"We should probably go back upstairs to have better connection, hmm?" the blonde then said.
Mitch sighed. "That means getting out of your arms and I don't wanna..."
"But that also means talking to our fiancé and hopefully finding a way to help him and get him back" Scott explained and sat up. "Come on."
Mitch sighed and got up reluctantly. "Okay, okay, I am coming."

After receiving his fiancé's message, Avi literally ran into the bathroom. He made a quick job of showering and then got dressed in sweatpants and a loose tank top. He prepared himself a cup of tea and then sat down on the balcony. It was quiet and there was no one there, he could talk to his men here.
After taking one more deep breath, he finally pressed the call button, calling Scott, because he had texted him earlier. He had to wait only for a few seconds before he saw Mitch and Scott on his screen, smiling and waving.
"Hey Avi" they both greeted him.
Avi took a sip of his tea and waved back at them. "Hi..."
"How are you, Avi?" Scott asked sincerely.
"Better..." Avi replied, not knowing what else to say. "I..." He shrugged his shoulders and looked away.
"Hey, Avi" Mitch spoke up, gaining his fiancé's attention.
"Yeah?"
"Do you want to tell us where you are? Easy questions first?"
Avi nodded and smiled slightly. "Yes. I'm in Oregon, not far from the Californian border. I just drove up the I5 until I was tired and then searched for a place to stay. And here I am. I had planned to go up to Seattle"
"Are you still planning to go up to Seattle?" Scott wanted to know.
Avi shrugged his shoulders. "I don't think so. I..." he sighed deeply. "Look, I am so sorry for everything I did to you. It was a big mistake and I hope that I can make it right somehow."
"You are making it right now, Avi" Scott said. "We are not here to judge you or anything, we just want to help you. Can you tell us why you left? At least try it."
Avi took a deep breath to organise his thoughts. "I can try. I... it just got too much. The media, most of all. I felt that it got worse every single day and I began questioning everything." He shrugged his shoulders. "I needed to get out and just left."
"Oh shit." Mitch cursed. "This... we, no I should have paid more attention. When you first mentioned that the articles are out there, I thought that kind words of encouragement would be enough, but it wasn't and I just feel so bad for not taking care of you. And then I had the audacity to sent that message. I'm sorry!"
But Avi just shook his head. "Not your fault" he said. "And the message was what caused me to think about what I did, and that I need to do something about it."
"I, too, feel that we failed you, Avi" Scott spoke up. "But still, we need to move on somehow..."
"The media is at fault. All these people that wrote horrible things, calling me sinner and everything" Avi said. "Maybe we can agree on that?"
Mitch nodded. "Yes. But sinner? That's..." He shook his head. "I didn't know that it got that bad."
Avi smiled sadly. "Yes... Gerald, my childhood friend wrote something that really hurt me."
"Oh Avi..." Scott looked at him sadly. "What I would give to have you in my arms right now..."
Avi felt tears welling up in his eyes and he sniffled. "Please..." He wiped a few stray tears away with his knuckles and drank from his tea to calm himself.
"Shall we come?" Mitch asked concerned.
Avi shook his head. "I don't know... no. I want to come home. But I'm scared as well..."
"Tell you what, Avi. We'll go to the cabin for a few days. Just us, no internet, nothing. We can focus on our relationship, on you getting better... do you want that?"
Avi nodded immediately. "Yes, please" he said. "But... you need to work, don't you?"
"We can definitely take some time off. You are more important, Avi. You matter" Mitch said. "So... cabin?"
Avi smiled. "Yes" he said. "I don't know how long I'll need to get there, I'm thinking 10 hours?"
Scott nodded. "Okay, but take it easy, right? We'll go there tomorrow in the morning and you join whenever you can make it, okay?"
Avi nodded. "Yes. I'll sleep early, the hike has made me tired and then go for an early start tomorrow. Maybe I can do it in one day, otherwise I'll stay somewhere for the night, deal?" He knew that he would drive the distance in one day, but he also knew that this is what Scott needed to hear.
The blonde smiled. "Good... how are you feeling right now?"
Avi smiled and it was an honest smile. "Relieved. Happy to have two amazing fiancés. Thank you."
"You are welcome" Mitch said. "I am glad to have you, too."
"Me too" Scott added.
Avi wanted to say something, but he just yawned.
"Someone is tired" Mitch said lightly.
"Mmmhm... was a long hike and an emotional day" he said and looked at his watch. "If I go to bed now, I can leave maybe at 3am and hope for empty streets. Just want to be with you..."
Scott smiled. "We want to be with you, too" he said. "You should go to bed."
Avi smiled back at him. "I will."
"Good... good night, Avi" Mitch said.
"Sleep tight, Avi" Scott added.
"Good night, Mitch, good night, Scott" Avi said. "I love you."
