"Hey, Loves" Mitch greeted his husbands of two years as he sat down at the breakfast table.

Scott smiled at him. "Hey" he said immediately, while Avi only reacted after a while.

"Hi..." he finally said, looking up from his phone.

"Already working again?" Mitch asked the bearded man.

"Mhmm" Avi hummed.

Mitch looked at Scott questioningly, but the blonde just shrugged his shoulders and took as sip from his coffee.

"I didn't even notice you coming to bed last night, Avi... must have been late..." Mitch began again.

"Hmm... I needed to review a few arrangements" Avi replied without looking up.

"Ah, cool. What are you up to today?" Mitch asked.

"I need to send out a few emails to the Academy kids, need to make some phone calls to secure a few things and review our finances and make a plan for fundraising, I doubt it will be enough" Avi said. "Could anyone tend to dinner, I won't make it in time.

"Why don't you focus on breakfast first?" Mitch asked softly.

"Oh..." Avi grabbed his bowl and started to eat his yoghurt with fruits while still looking at his phone.

"Avi" Scott spoke up with a firm voice.

The bearded man's head snapped up immediately. "Yeah?" he asked.

"I know that you are busy, but please, for the duration of our breakfast put your phone away" Scott asked calmly.

Avi took a deep breath. "Yes, sorry" he said meekly and put his phone into his pocket.

"Thank you" Scott said. "If you need help today, please let us know. And regarding finances, we can always step in. No matter what you need us to do, we can sing for your fundraiser or we can donate. Everything for your acapella kids."

"I... I'll get back to you, Scotty, thank you!" Avi said while eating his breakfast and drinking his tea.

"I can help, too" Mitch said. "It's crazy that you organise it all alone, now that Ben is sick. You need help!"

"It's not his fault and it's just bad luck that he got mononucleosis that late in his life. It'll take some time for him to be fit again. We're hoping right now that he'll be able to attend this year's camp" Avi explained. "And now that he is not here to help, I need to do it. I need to have control about everything. It needs to be perfect for the kids! They deserve it. I'll gladly work a few extra hours for them."

Mitch smiled. "I know" he said. "And we'll have your back through this, don't worry."

"Thank you" Avi said. "It means a lot. And I am sorry if I am not that helpful or fun to be around at the moment. Just give me a week or two and it'll be better."

"It's okay" Mitch said. "Just take care of yourself. Don't do too much, take breaks if necessary and no all-nighters, okay?"

Avi smiled slightly. "I'll try my very best" he said. "But you know me, I cannot promise you that."

Scott took his hand. "I know. We just care about you."

"I know..." Avi replied. "And it means a lot."

"He did not come to bed tonight, either, did he?" Mitch asked two days later. It was eight in the morning and they were still lying in their bed, cuddling and talking.

Scott shook his head. "No..." he noted. "I don't know what we can do..."

Mitch sighed. "I can't do anything" he said softly. "But maybe you can?"
